Wow, just wow. "The Hunter: Call of the Wild" has to be the most mind-numbingly dull game I have ever played. If you have insomnia, this game is your miracle cure. I’ve had more excitement watching grass grow.

Let’s dive into the “gameplay.” You spend endless hours wandering through the same monotonous landscapes, with the thrill of occasionally seeing a deer from 500 yards away. Riveting stuff, truly. The game’s tagline should be "Walking Simulator: With Rare Animal Sightings." If you’re looking for actual hunting, you’ll find more excitement in a children's petting zoo.

Compare it to a survival hunting game like "Sons of the Forest." It’s like comparing a gourmet meal to stale bread. In "Sons of the Forest," you get a rich, dynamic environment where every moment is packed with thrilling encounters, not just with wildlife but with tribals and cannibals. It’s an adrenaline rush from start to finish, unlike this snooze fest.

But the cherry on top of this disaster? Steam’s laughable support. I realized my mistake within 11 minutes of playing this bore-fest and requested a refund. But no, Steam Support, in their infinite wisdom, decided my torment wasn’t worth a refund. Thanks, Steam, for teaching me the hard way that your refund policy is as useless as this game.

In a nutshell "The Hunter: Call of the Wild" is a colossal waste of time and money. If you enjoy tedious, repetitive gameplay with zero excitement, go ahead and throw your money away. For everyone else, other games like "Sons of the Forest" is where real entertainment lives. Steam and the game’s publisher should be ashamed of themselves for peddling this garbage and then refusing to stand by their product with a refund. Thanks for nothing, Steam. You've just reminded me why trusting you with my money was a terrible mistake

I started "The Forest" about a year ago, drawn by its overwhelmingly positive ratings. However, my initial experience was quite underwhelming. The game felt boring right from the start. The stamina for running doesn't last long, making exploration feel sluggish. Collecting resources and crafting items also seemed tedious and monotonous.

Recently, I played "Sons of the Forest," which is a major improvement over this game in almost every aspect. The visuals in "Sons of the Forest" are stunning, and the quality of life improvements make the gameplay much more enjoyable and engaging.

After experiencing "Sons of the Forest," I decided to give "The Forest" another try, hoping to find some of the charm others seem to love. Unfortunately, the poor visuals (especially when compared to "Sons of the Forest") and the absence of many quality of life features made it difficult for me to get into the game. The overall experience felt outdated and unappealing.

While "The Forest" might have been groundbreaking at its release, it doesn't hold up well against its successor. If you're looking for a more immersive and visually appealing survival experience, I would highly recommend "Sons of the Forest" instead.

What's Good:

Visuals: The game's visuals are absolutely stunning. The rich, detailed environments immerse you deeply into the game's world. The attention to detail is commendable, making every part of the island a visual treat. Whether it's the dense forests, eerie caves, or the abandoned campsites, each scene is beautifully crafted.

Sound: The sound design is top-notch, enhancing the overall atmosphere of the game. The ambient sounds change dynamically with the environment, adding to the sense of realism. The creaks, rustles, and distant noises keep you on edge, perfectly suiting the game's atmosphere.

Realism: The game achieves a high level of realism. From the way the environment interacts with the player to the survival mechanics, everything feels quite authentic. This realism significantly contributes to the immersive experience of being stranded on a remote island.

What's Not So Good:

Game Design: Unfortunately, the game's design has some drawbacks. The map is enormous, which in itself isn't a problem, but gathering the right resources for each objective becomes a tedious task. This often takes away from the overall enjoyment and sense of progression.

Saving Mechanism: The necessity to find or set up a tent every time you want to save your progress is frustrating. It feels like an unnecessary chore that disrupts the flow of the game.

Difficulty Level: Even at the lowest custom difficulty, the game remains quite challenging, especially in the caves. These areas can be excessively long and winding, making them a bit of a grind rather than an enjoyable challenge.

Crafting and Building System: The crafting and building system feels overly tedious. Building a base requires a massive number of logs, and gathering them is a mundane task. While some players might enjoy the building aspect, it detracts from the experience for those who prefer exploration and combat.

Once you've explored most of the island, fought off cannibals and mutants, and looted several villages and abandoned sites, the game starts to feel repetitive as you push towards the end.

TLDR: "Sons of the Forest" offers an amazing experience as a 'stranded on a remote island' simulator. The visuals, sound design, and realism are truly impressive. However, the tedious game design elements, saving mechanism, difficulty level, and cumbersome crafting/building system make it challenging to see the game through to the end. If you enjoy immersive survival experiences and don't mind the grind, this game is definitely worth a try. But for those who prefer a more streamlined experience, it might feel too tedious and boring.

It's an interactive animated movie. Not really a game.

Too many cut scenes, and petty side objectives.

The combat is dull and boring.

I played portal 2 first, and that left me wanting for more so I came to portal 1 :D

Definitely a good game, with thoughtfully designed levels.

The atmosphere, the story, the gameplay... All are thoroughly enjoyable

Fun, casual game...
Enjoyable with friends. Some levels are hard, some are silly, and some just mundane.

Overall a decent game.

This is my combined review for last light and redux.
Both the titles are thoroughly enjoyable. They provide an excellent fps experience, q rich story, decent mechanics, overall nice visuals, and all of it culminates into an eyecandy 3rd part in the series i.e. exodus.

Get them when they're on sale. Don't try to speed run, but take it slow and enjoy the rich environments and story.

Dying Light is nothing short of phenomenal. From its gripping storyline to the exhilarating combat mechanics, it’s a game that stands out in the crowded zombie genre. The narrative is compelling, keeping you invested from start to finish with its twists and turns that ensure you’re always on your toes. The combat system is incredibly satisfying; whether you’re using melee weapons or firearms, every hit feels impactful, adding to the thrill of visceral, up-close encounters.

The parkour system is seamless and intuitive, making running, jumping, and climbing through the city feel natural and fluid. This mechanic greatly enhances exploration, turning what could be a simple journey from point A to point B into an exhilarating adventure. The game’s world is richly detailed and immersive, with the transition from day to night bringing a palpable tension, as nighttime enemies are significantly more dangerous.

The open-world environment is vast and filled with opportunities for exploration. Side quests and random encounters keep the experience fresh and engaging, although some side missions can feel repetitive after a while. Additionally, the game can have sudden spikes in difficulty, particularly at night, which, while adding to the tension, can sometimes feel overwhelming. Occasionally, the AI behavior can be inconsistent, with enemies sometimes acting unpredictably.

Despite these minor drawbacks, Dying Light is an exceptional game that combines a compelling narrative with satisfying combat and innovative parkour mechanics to create a truly memorable experience. For fans of zombie games or action-adventure titles, Dying Light is a must-play. Its blend of story, combat, and exploration sets a high bar in the genre, making it a standout title worth your time. Highly recommended.
