Now this, is a game. I'm hardpressed to find the right word to describe it sans using the term "perfect", but it's damn close. I could only wish there were more RPGs like this; one that doesn't dare to hold your hand.

Firstly, the game is nowhere near as difficult as the naysayers claim it to be. The game has its moments of difficulty, but can be remedied with consistent "ok" performance. Also, the game is punishing, not difficult. Dying at the hands of a boss and having to go back all the way from the bonfire to the boss instance isn't an example of difficulty, but a model of punishment. The difficulty lies within the mobs and the bosses themselves, not within the environment (except for Tomb of the Giants). Know that Dark Souls doesn't want you to fail, it wants you to succeed. You are given the tools, and it is your job to use them to your advantage. I've seen countless "casuals" finish this game (e.g Pewdiepie and Just Jack) , don't let the game delude you into thinking you can't finish it. Just think, if they can do it, why can't I?

The game may seem convoluted to newbies at the beginning, but that's how it was intended to be. You'll often find yourself asking "where to next?" and exploring (and dying in) areas that aren't exactly intended for your level and status in the story. Dark Souls won't tell you where to go next, nor will it give you a map. But the entirety of the game is so damn memorable, you won't need either after your first playthrough.

The cons:
Hackers are rife in Dark Souls PC. They will and most certainly ruin your pvp experience.
What's worse than backstabbing an invader and finding out he lost no health? Easy. Game devs not bothering to do anything about the hacker problem.

The port to PC wasn't very well done. It's literally like playing an XBOX 360 version of the game, except you're playing it on PC. They didn't even bother to change the xbox icons.

Solid F2P shooter that delivers you to the promised, sacred land of "Not Pay2Win" gaming.
