This game is utterly charming to just let rest in the corner of your screen while you're working on other things or even playing other games.

I adore Terra Nil. I played it before release at PAX and I was hooked. As someone with unholy amounts of hours in factory building games, this is such a gentle palette cleanser.

The one thing others have pointed out is that it is a pretty short game. I'm nearing 100% on it - which i should complete in under 8 hours. I honestly don't mind that. Not every game needs to be 100 hours of playtime. I spend as much as I did on this game to go see a movie that lasts 2-3 hours, so I won't complain about the price for the game.

If that's your hangup, wait for a sale and pick it up right away,

I've 'finished' two games of this so far in multiplayer.

Each game was well over 100 hours.

Update 12.01.2024 -

Space Age adds a ton of depth. I can't wait to start to dig back into the mods scene once I thoroughly get through the base game of Space Age

I used to play this game a good deal. Not many games pass 250 hours of playtime for me.

I really enjoyed it. Bought the DLC, played with a very regular group of people. Then the DLC started become more frequent and less full. They tied in to any gimmick it seemed like they could and it became stale. Many promises went unanswered. I stopped playing over a year ago.

And here I am, giving it a review all because of the Steam Awards.

Great game, quick to pick up and knock out a game or two without any big time committments. Particularly enjoyable as you get to higher tiers of the default weapons.

Tanks for the memories.

Edit 2023: The mod scene took this from a 60 hour game to over 300. And as of July, the developer is going to be adding even more free content in an upcoming patch.

I suppose you get what you pay for when it is a four-pack for five bucks. 4/10
