Early Access Review
I can't recommend this game on account of the developers taking all the wrong lessons from other roguelikes/roguelites and not listening to their community. it had an okay-ish foundation but went bad fast:

+Decent enemy variety now depending on the biomes

+/-A few bits here and there your dwarf can interact with in the environments but nothing too interesting. Environments do get repetitive fairly fast

-Bosses still have very little variety and makes the game even more boring fighting them over and over.

-Wildly unbalanced weapons where some are hot garbage and others steamroll most parts of the game

-Classes are similarly unbalanced, some have amazing snowball potential and others are like why would you even pick this?

-My biggest personal issue, the developers force players to speedrun everything. The recent update made rewards scale with how fast you kill bosses which is completely unacceptable.

-Adding onto the previous negative, you can't even choose when the drop pod comes down. It just immediately drops after the boss dies ending the level very quickly or you essentially get left behind and die.

-Rerolls cost resources at all points in the game, you do not get any free rerolls. If RNG screws you on your choices you're forced to waste upgrade materials that keep you alive essentially gambling on a hope that you'll get better choices. With upgrades you should get at least a few free rerolls maybe 1-3 as you max it out, the current state of the system is abysmal.

-Artifacts you get from supply pods can be useful, except they just nerfed some of the better ones and again if you get horrible choices you're going to have to waste resources rerolling yet again instead of getting a few free rerolls. This makes unlocking more content essentially shoot you in the foot later. They really need to learn from Vampire Survivors and allow players to ban cerain items as well

-Especially on higher danger levels, you're going to have to grind a LOT if you want to survive at all and not get instakilled.

Completely unacceptable behavior by the developers which is a shame because original DRG is such a good game (I know this is made by a different group). Instead of allowing player agency and choice in a genre known for it (roguelikes and roguelites) they constantly try to force you down their narrow view of how the game should be played and instead of enjoying the game you have to rush rush rush at every possible moment. Luckily there are mods to fix this like the drop pod timer but idk if I even want to keep playing the game at all if the developers are going to keep ruining the game like this. So, hard pass and would not recommend to anyone even people who like DRG and roguelites. There are much better games in the market like Vampire Survivors, don't waste your money on this one.

(Editing the review to include I was targeted by the developer Steam mods with a warning for posting this negative review and my discussion post highlighting the same issues. Avoid this game at all costs)

An amazing little game that I thoroughly enjoyed despite the short length of it. Here are my summarized points of praise and concern:

+ A great story that subverts your expectations in a lot of ways, plenty of different endings and ways to change up what happens.

+ characters you meet aren't very often as they seem at first, in a lot of both good and bad ways. You can make friends with very unlikely individuals

+ Party members are very useful and actually interact with you and the others around them instead of being static objects like some games make them out to be.

+ Some very good variety with items, weapons, consumables, and tons of different objects to interact with too in the environment.

+/- The different damage types make it so all weapon types are useful in their own way, but right now enemies are mostly weak to slashing and guns. This can easily be tweaked later though I'm sure with the amount of people notably bringing it up.

-Party members can be very RNG heavy when you get them, unfortunately.

-Difficulty definitely gets easier as the game goes on, some enemies need tweaking but certain bosses are definitely still strong.

-Horrible weapon durability system that is completely RNG, your weapon can crack and then break randomly with only one way to repair it. Duct tape, that includes unique and supposedly higher quality weapons that still break fully which is very stupid imo.

-Food and cooking in general falls off later since the restoration of your health and totally not mana bar aren't scaling. So while that might be good early it takes a LOT later on to full restore when not using things like elixirs.

-Lack of a map and confusing navigation in certain parts of the game can make it a headache sometimes.

I really loved my time interacting with every one of the characters in this game and the unique take it has on making eldritch abominations actually keep their sanity in some cases and be very interesting people to talk with and have various ways of helping them. We need more games where it isn't just the tired and cliche every monster is out to kill you, these actually have character depth and sure their desires are inhuman to a degree but diplomacy should still be an option with them.

There are a lot of flaws at the moment but I have faith in the developer who seems very open to feedback, I think they will fix the majority of the issues with this game and it'll shape up to be a very solid experience they can be proud of. I believe them worthy of my praise and everyone else's and I absolutely think they should make more games like this in the future, preferably longer ones. $10 for a game I'll never forget is a great price and I plan on replaying this multiple other times when my previously stated issues with it are fixed. Well done

Honestly couldn't get into it, it plays like Slay the Spire covered in bubble wrap. Too limited and safe instead of letting players build how they want and letting things go crazy. The characters are uninteresting too imo, but I suppose it would be alright if you want a more subdued and repetitive StS every now and then. I just can't see myself playing this much more

Pretty nice little RPG Maker game, the dev is attentive and does their best to remedy your complaints. A few issues like a lot of the active abilities being basically worthless, items having too much weight, and others aren't that bad where they ruin the experience and for an older game it holds up alright. I'm mainly giving it a positive review because the dev fixed some issues I reported and there's enough story and variety in the game to keep you going for a bit. For the price worth it

+Good bit of variety with the classes, and races, but nothing too impressive there.

+Decent environmental variety, though nothing we haven't seen before. Some assets do get reused a lot though

+Relatively faithful D&D adaptation, some extremely questionable choices however in the campaign.

-Extremely unbalanced low-level encounters that are equivalent to a sadistic DM that wants to kill you. (Enemies that attack 3x a turn while you can only attack once, regenerating and wall climbing enemies with stacked racial abilities, etc.)

-Some very annoying enemies that just teleport back and forth again and again every single turn farther than your party can realistically keep up with unless you cheese the encounters. (speaking of questionable choices)

-Stealth is not well implemented, there are some story events and encounters as well as enemies who can immediately see through your hiding characters with no indication whatsoever they can see you. (That includes trying to open chests and loot while stealthed.)

-Horrible looking characters with messed up faces and hair that looks like playdough

-Incredibly bad voice acting does not convey emotions properly and is completely out of place on many occasions. (Low budget is no excuse, you can find enthusiastic D&D fans who will voice characters properly for cheap or even free.)

-Attunement to magical items making you limited on magic equipment choices. (never use that mechanic in any D&D sessions or games I play).

-Very disappointing main campaign with little of interest and no actual choices, linear as a railroad. Arrogant and annoying story characters you're forced to work with, at no point did anything even get me enthusiastic about the story or give me a reason to care about the characters.

-Faction reputation is quite boring, and doesn't really do much for you other than discounts and item choices at their respective shops.

-Incredibly tedious mechanics everywhere like the unbalanced random ambushes on the map, having to craft a lot of magical items yourself which also takes forever, side quests that are just going back to a location you've previously cleared and killing a single group of enemies and then leaving, etc.

-Horrible pathfinding and movement controls, you can go down a cliff from an area you arrived from and try to go back and the game will tell you no path found. See a clearly open area you should be able to fly to? Guess what, you usually can't and it's trying to force you to either misty step or dimension door instead.

-Bugs, there are plenty of them still and nothing game-breaking for me but small annoyances where things should work and they don't. Particularly with traversal it's a pain

The game is an absolute train wreck and there's so little to keep you interested I really don't see why people are glazing this game with so many positive reviews. Literally the only reason I even kept playing this is the Unfinished Business mod saving it from some of the horrible aspects of the game you can turn off and rules you can change. A thoroughly disappointing experience through and through. Get BG3 or Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous instead if you value your money.

This game is amazing if you like visual-novel style RPG's and even though some aspects of the game could use a little work overall it was a great experience I got emotional over. Would recommend

+Such a good story, a lot of care was put into it and it's incredible. There's twists, character backstories have effort put into them, and you can really empathize with pretty much all of the characters.

+A lot of characters, some I liked ability-wise more than other but overall certainly can't complain there. Learning some really strong ability combos for each one feels good too.

+Plenty of items to use like consumable potions/herbs/pills, relics you can use for party-wide buffs among other things, and some very strong equipment that can make or break your run.

+Tons and tons of unlockable content, very important for deck-building roguelikes and this one definitely has it.

+/-Character friend system allows you to access more lore and backstory about each character and their motivations, though learning what particular items each character likes can take some guessing. Having to gold friendship each character to get the true ending makes sense lore-wise but can be quite grindy so I view it as a bit of a negative.

+/-This should be obvious as part of the rogulike deckbuilding genre but I wanted to make a point to potential buyers that you will get frustrated on runs getting relatively useless skills and or relics/equipment and dying sometimes. It's up to you if you are willing to put up with it, but all genre veterans here know the deal by now.

-Not a lot of enemy variety in the base game, they need to put a bit more work in there imo so while you're grinding out a lot of runs you have some more interesting encounters.

-The DLC bosses are not balanced well and honestly you don't really get much for beating them past the first time or so. If you're going to make bosses brutally difficult you need to offer a proportional reward or there's no point doing them.

-I got a mod for this purpose, but with how many items there are in the game they should do like some roguelikes do and offer bans to particular skills/relics/equipment you don't want to see in your runs. Because some are perfect for particular characters and others are just absolute garbage and reforging them into other items is not readily done in most cases.

If you can put up with the gameplay negatives at times, the story is far beyond what I expected from a roguelike deck-builder and I can feel every bit of the time and effort the developers put into it. Incredible work by to the whole team that made this game

I'd still highly recommend Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth as I did the previous game, it's great with a lot of depth. There's a good bit of improvements since the last game, and a few slight issues too.

+Likable and mostly well-written characters, understandable villains, some twists with their pasts and motives for doing things. Overall pretty good here

+Well thought-out class system with plenty of choices on every character and relationship system with each party member to flesh out their backstory more and make them more useful in combat/allow more classes to pick from on them. Improved from the previous game even more there and definitely feels better imo

+A good bit of equipment choices too, and with all the classes and workshop to upgrade/make new gear there's plenty of loot out there. You can get consumable stat boosts and manuals to level up your stats and classes too.

+They made the game's scaling over time and balance with enemies much better this time around, pretty much no bullet spongy enemies with massive resistances to all damage types.

+/- Great story with twists and a good bit of care put into it, pretty lengthy too. Still emotional with a lot of good moments, but it also starts falling apart a bit around Chapter 10 or so imo and becomes a bit worse than the previous game.

-Extremely grindy if you want everything just like the last game, I feel they do this to sell dlc and pad out the game time a bit personally. And honestly I disliked most of the minigames again except for a few of them. The minigames are not required in most cases, but basically are if you want the best stuff. Regarding that, the business management minigame again is just awful and takes forever to get anywhere. The business rewards are good, but wow was I bored doing everything over and over by the end getting to #1.

Again one of the best JRPG's I've played, if you get it on sale it's a steal and if you don't mind the grind it's worth every hour played. Could be better in a few areas, but overall still a great experience and I'm glad I got it.

An amazing game with a huge amount of content, honestly cheap af for the value you get out of it if you love horde survival games.

-Massive amount of weapons, items, pickups, characters, etc. This game has it all

-DLC is VERY reasonably priced and great value for it too.

-Quite a lot of level variety and diverse mechanics, you will be surprised by this game.

-Tons of secrets and unlocks, it will take you a long while to do everything in this game.

I can't recommend it enough honestly, especially after the recent Castlevania DLC it's one of my favorite games of all time.

I'd highly recommend Yakuza: Like a Dragon, it's a great game with plenty of depth and a lot I like about it. With some issues here and there of course, but a good game regardless.

+ Incredible story with twists and plenty of care put into it, pretty lengthy too and has a lot of emotional moments.

+Likable and well-written characters, this is how an RPG should be done, even if you hate them you understand their motives and can sympathize with some villains even.

+Well thought-out class system with plenty of choices on every character and relationship system with each party member to flesh out their backstory more and make them more useful in combat/allow more classes to pick from on them.

+A lot of restaurants ingame to heal at and increase your relationship with your allies, I'd recommend taking advantage of them despite the cost.

+A good bit of equipment choices too, and with all the classes and workshop to upgrade/make new gear there's plenty of loot out there. You can get consumable stat boosts and manuals to level up your stats and classes too.

-Extremely grindy if you want everything, and honestly I disliked most of the minigames except for a few of them. The minigames are not required in most cases, but basically are if you want the best stuff. Regarding that, the business management minigame is just awful and takes forever to get anywhere. The business rewards are good, but wow was I bored clicking through it by the end getting to #1.

-Some enemies are resistant to basically every weapon type late-game and have massive amounts of health, making combat a slog of you beating them senseless over and over until they finally die.

It's definitely one of the best JRPG's I've played, if you get it on sale it's a steal and if you don't mind the grind it's worth every hour played.

Very poorly balanced, wouldn't recommend honestly.

+Decent story, but gets super grindy to get anything out of it.

+Decent bit of cosmetics save otherwise bland player characters

+A good bit of variety, but it's a shame most of it isn't viable later on.

-Only a few viable builds per class

-No passive stat gain from leveling or progression outside of each match

-Leveling up you actively shoot yourself in the foot when you unlock vestiges that are hot garbage cluttering up your loot pool

-Every fight is on a time limit making shields and durability builds useless

-Higher difficulties add the most obnoxious and overpowered modifiers to enemies and/or make them extremely spongy to waste your time until the ink kills you moving in.

-Enemies making lingering damage fields on top of the arena constantly getting smaller is horrendous game design.

-Bosses are generally speaking very annoying with constantly spawning minions with undodgeable attacks. And the same time limit as normal fights, as well as being affected by stage modifiers like the 25% bonus damage per round they survive among others which makes you get one-shot later on. Not to mention on top of the arena closing in some bosses have massive aoe attacks with lingering damage fields.

No progression besides unlocking cosmetics and vestiges as well as all these frustrating aspects of the gameplay completely ruin it unfortunately. The game had potential but I think I'm going to play something better now.
