A good virtual novel with horror elements (I won't spoil anything), which is uncommon in the genre. I highly recommend you to play this if you're a fan of reading vn's, as it is very much worth your time.

Just Cause 2 is an open world/sandbox action game that highly encourages Exploration. In this game you play as a man named "Rico Rodriguez" who is air dropped onto the fictional "Island of Panau" in order to find an Agency operative (the same Agency Rico is in) who has defected and gone rogue. You are freely allowed and encouraged to cause as much chaos and destruction on the fictional Island as possible, in order to spark a civilian resistance against the Island's ruthless Dictator, a man nick-named "Baby Panay".

In JC2, you earn "Chaos points" for causing Chaos (destroying buildings, killing enemies, sabotaging pipelines, assassinating military targets, or in general destroying anything that belongs to the Panuan government), which you can then use to unlock Main Story missions. Most of the Gameplay revolves around either exploring the Massive 400 Sq Mi island, doing missions, or in general causing chaos and/or destruction. You are given a small variety of weapons, including pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, machine guns and sniper rifles. You are also given a grappling hook that you can use to hook on to things, tether things together, or for use as a melee weapon.

The game has a faction system; there are three different factions you are allowed to join and become a member of. You can partake in Faction missions (which usually involve doing miscallenous tasks, such as hijacking a truck for example). The first Faction, named the "Ular Boys", have the eventual goal of turning Panau into an isolated nation, free of any and all government oppression/influence. The second Faction, named "The Reapers", believe Panau should be a controlled, communist nation. The third and final Faction, named "The Roaches", are a criminal syndicate and consequentially the most crime-oriented faction of the trio.

The game's graphics are very eye-catching and still hold up today. You can see the sun's light rays shine through the trees, every tire track on the highly detailed textures of the dirt roads, and every individual ripple in the very aesthetically-appealing water. With the game set to max, you wouldn't be able to guess this game was released in 2010. Gaming standards have really come a long way. Long gone are the days of "Half-Life" and "Rainbow Six", when the graphics were blocky and slightly unbelievable (but still great for their time). Game developers now focus on the graphical qualities/abilties of their video games, and it really pays off in the long run. However, I still believe the Gameplay aspect of any video game should be its primary focus, because thats where most of the heart and soul should go into.

Just Cause 2 is a very detailed and rich video game, that is not only very attractive, but also significant in the amount of general things to do. Some could argue that the game can get repetitive after the Main Story has been beaten and most of the Side Missions as well. This can hold true for some, however (even though I still have yet to beat the Main Story), I strongly believe this game can stil stay as fresh and vibrant as your first playthrough, solely due to the fact that the game is a giant, living Toybox just waiting for you to come and play. I find it immensely satsifying to use the grappling hook to board a plane mid-air, or tether an Enemy to the back of your car as you go for a ride, or even just in general exploring parts of the Island you either haven't seen before or haven't seen in a while (which will most likely be common, as the Map is really huge, it's hard not to miss things). In general, I highly recommend this game if you are a fan of Open-World Sandbox videogames.

My Final Rating: 8.5/10

Insurgency is a fun and addicting semi-realistic FPS, with a prominent focus on teamwork. It basically has it all; Good graphics, intense gameplay, large selection of maps, etc.

Insurgency adds realistic elements to the gameplay, including limited hud, no killcams, reduced ability of the player to survive multiple gunshot wounds, etc.

It is quite an intense game. The feeling of adrenaline you get when you're pinned down by enemy fire, trying your best to stay alive is what makes this game truly shine. Now, what it lacks in quantity it makes up for in quality. There aren't a whole lot of weapons, but the game makes up for that in the quality of them. Most guns (excluding the sniper rifles and pistols) have the option of changing their fire mode. Usually the choices are Semi, Burst, and Auto, so you can choose whichever works best for you.

Since Insurgency is semi-realistic, you the player can die in just a blink of an eye. It only takes 2-3 shots and you're dead. It only takes one stray RPG rocket to take you and your whole team out. In this game, you are not a walking tank that games like Call of Duty make you out to be. In order to survive, you need to work with your teammates to finish the mission.

The game's Online community is usually pretty active, so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding some teammates to pair up with. In general, if you're a fan of games like ArmA and Rainbow Six, definitely check this game out.

Pros:
- Good graphics
- Large variety of maps
- Semi-Realistic gameplay
- Active community

Cons:
- Can be frustrating, especially if playing by yourself
- Rather small selection of weapons

Final Rating: 8.5/10

Arguably one of the best Side Scrolling/Exploration games to come out recently, Terraria has it all; Large randomized worlds, large variety of weapons, NPCS, epic bosses, multiplayer, and more.

One of the best things about Terraria is that there's plenty to do. Besides killing enemies and fighting bosses, you are able to explore, gather supplies, build, farm and fish. There's a complete crafting system so you can craft materials and make weapons, tools and armor to protect yourself with.

Once you are able to build a suitable home for yourself, you can have Friendly NPCS move in. Some offer advice, while others sell weapons, armor, and items in exhange for in game currency. At Night, all the monsters start roaming about so you'll need to make sure your house is secure enough to protect you, the Player and any NPCS living with you, because the monsters will attack them.

After you get started in your World, you can get down to business. Gather some wood and stone to make yourself some weapons and tools, and go exploring for treasure chests (that are scattered across your world) for valuable loot. Oh and watch out for your first boss, "The Eye of Chutulhu", who spawns during your first few nights. After you gather enough loot/items, you can head out on your own and do everything at your own pace. Explore, build, fight bosses, find treasure, and in general have fun while doing so. FYI, grab a friend or two and have double the fun while doing stuff together.

Pros:
- Good graphics
- High replayability
- Multiplayer
- Epic soundtrack

Cons:
- N/A

Survival/open world Multiplayer game. Fun and addicting, although does have its flaws.

Pros:
-Easy to get into
-Simple UI
-Active Multiplayer
-Decent Graphics

Cons:
-Still a bit buggy (animals glitch through solid objects, etc)
-Poor community (most people I've encountered are generally not helpful and kill on sight no matter what, and even go so far as to mock you after you die).

Overall i do recommend this game, however you should try to get it when its on sale or if you have friends to play it with. The poor community heavily detracts from the overall experience, however besides it and the bugs the game is surprisingly solid and addicting.

Final rating: 8/10

ArmA 3 is a military sandbox/simulation videogame developed by Bohemia Interactive and released in 2013. It offers both singleplayer and multiplayer modes, and the game can be played both offline and online. ArmA 3 is a very fun videogame, and in my opinion, better than Arma 2, for a variety of reasons.

First off, the game's animations have vastly improved. No longer do the animations look clunky and/or laggy (as they did in ArmA 2), the animations in 3 look smooth as silk. Watching a friendly squad of BLUFOR (USA) units move across the landscape looks realistic and presentable. Vaulting over a fence that stands between you and a vehicle feels (and looks) good. Bohemia really did a fantastic job with the animations.

Secondly, the game's graphics have been enhanced. The game's engine (called the "RV4") allows for greater graphical fidelity than ArmA 2, and because of this, offers crisp and beautiful scenes in the game's world. Not speaking from personal experience, ArmA 3 on ultra looks as good, if not even better, than GTA V on ultra. The grass looks real, uniforms look soft, objects look smooth, and so on so forth. Played on low settings, ArmA 3 still manages to look decent, which is awesome.

Thirdly, ArmA 3's audio is nothing short of amazing. Being pinned down by enemy gunfire makes you feel like you're really there in the scene. Being right next to a rifle or lmg while it's being fired is loud and it feels like an actual gun going off. I will say, however that this game does unfornatuely suffer from an odd bug; the footsteps created by your player character actually appear from behind you, which confuses some players.

Last but not least, the performance of ArmA 3 has been increased. The game does manage to run better than ArmA 2 did, however it still isn't completely optimized and can run bad on your machine, even if you're rocking a 970, i7 and 8 gigs of ram; the performance in ArmA 3 is seemingly random and apparently doesn't entirely rely on your gpu, but rather your cpu to do most of the work. Personally I'm not too bothered by ArmA 3's performance; the game runs smooth while in the wilderness (away from towns and the such) but while in towns the frames drop some, which is fine for me personally.

Overall, I think ArmA 3 is definitely worth the price, however there is one more thing that in my opinion, is ArmA 3's greatest flaw; the dlc for ArmA 3 is overpriced. The recently released "Apex" expansion costs about 34 dollars, and what it includes is one map, some more uniforms, units, vehicles and weapons. While I think the map is very cool and a nice deperature from the previous ArmA maps (like ArmA 2's Chernarus), I just can't recommend the dlc at that price, due to mods existing and even being a pivotal part of the ArmA experience nowadays; with mods you can get pretty much everything the dlc has to offer, aside from the map, for free. This makes the dlc almost obsolete, and if it weren't for the map, I wouldn't recommend the dlc at all. I personally think Bohemia should release the Marksmen and Helicopters dlc (which each only add a couple of weapons and/or vehicles) for free, and lower the price of the apex dlc, because they owe us ArmA gamers that much.

Pros:
- Better animations
- Beautiful graphics
- Amazing audio

Cons:
- Odd performance
- Overpriced dlc
