Yeah, so sit down on your stinky gaming chair, relax and prepare to invest as many hours as you can possibly stay awake, until essentially, you, your chair and headphones, become one single entity, fused by sweat and tears.

Notice yourself turning into an unhinged gremlin who will chase and latch onto any opportunity to feel something once again - whether that is getting into another fight, raid your innocent neighbors, stir up drama or roam around, farming mostly new spawns.

It's a 8/10 for me.

Completely obsessed with this game, its so good. The bosses, the exploration, the building, the items, the weapons, everything is fun.
Its a versatile game too, meaning it can be chill or challenging, depending on what you feel like doing, what difficulty you play on and how you approach the game. The possibilities are nearly endless.

I personally, tried this game a while back, enjoyed it but wasn't too enthusiastic about it due to how overwhelming it can be for a complete noob. A few months later and I picked it up again, started a new character and a new world and now I can't stop.
My only regret is not having played this game sooner, when I had more time.

This was the first ever Metroidvania game I've played and all I can say is... what a fantastic introduction to the genre!!
It is such an enjoyable game that it prompted me to write my (also) first ever detailed review:

Ori and the blind forest is a fantastic experience, even for people who aren't used this genre.
The problem solving is not necessarily complicated BUT some levels require a good amount of coordination and patience to get it right. Some times you almost feel like quitting but persistence is key and a bit of difficulty is quite welcomed.

The character's movement, attacks and animations are all extremely fluid and very satisfactory to play with.
The game itself is visually stunning, presenting fantastic, detailed art. From the choice of color pallet to stylistic design to ambiance, you name it, EVERYTHING is beautiful, well polished and cohesive.
The music is superb as well and not only complements but enhances the story, which is a simple one, but beautifully presented and quite emotionally charged.
Even after completing the game, I kept playing to do more exploration and unlock hidden areas and achievements.


Overall, this game is well worth its cost and I was taken aback by how a simple concept can be transformed in such a fantastic end product. Congratulations to Moon Studios for this one, because you can clearly see that there was genuine effort put into this.

This games fills the void inside me at least until the protesting visitors arrive ♡
