To clarify a bit, the "bullet hell" tag is moreso for 1P and/or lower difficulties.
Otherwise this truly is distilled raid mechanics & rotations, but with just enough rogue-like variance to keep each run fresh.
There's nothing else quite like prog'ing this with friends, better yet if they've never touched an mmo.

I love Magic, and Duels has been an acceptable to good client at points in its lifetime. Unfortunately, the developer is incompetent. Every patch breaks or removes key features - this most recent one removing the ability to right click from the game, resulting in an unusable interface.
The kicker is that the developer refuses to do patches outside of set releases, roughly every three months. That means that these bugs won't be fixed until at least three months from now.
Magic is still a great game, but this terrible mismanagement leaves it practically unplayable.
If you're looking for a casual game or a teaching tool, look into any of the pre-2015 DOTP games.

An extreme disappointment.

Perhaps my expectations were set too high by the vast amounts of praise I saw in reviews for this game, but as someone who loved and would highly recommend Journey, I figured this game would be perfect for me. This was not the case, as though this game only took 2.6 hours for me to complete (with a few side objectives, mind you), I could not wait for it to end.

I expected this game to be an immersive experience, nothing more. However, I was immediately ripped out of that illusion by the horrible controls, or rather the lack of any control whatsoever. The single context-sensitive action button is finicky and annoying. Jump heights are inconsistent, and often puzzles are more a test of endurance than a test of critical thinking and timing.

Without spoiling anything significant, there is a section in the game where you are on a hang glider. Simple enough. However, during this whole ~1 or 2 minute section, you are required to hold down both triggers. If you let go for a split second, one of the brothers will let go and plummet to their deaths, forcing a restart. This is infuriating game design, and can be found throughout the game.

Additionally, the above only applies when you are actually playing the game. There are countless sections where you watch a short cutscene, then walk forward ten meters, only to have another cutscene start playing! Rinse and repeat.

I could go into finer details about my disapointment in story and relative lack of character progression, but I must admit that it is hard to do so without spoiling something. In short, this is a game that is definitely supposed to make you feel emotionally attached to the two characters and tug at your heartstrings as you accompany them on their quest. I felt no such connection to the characters, even during the ending and epilogue. I saw what this game was trying to do, but it resulting in nothing but wasted potential.

The only positive thing I can say about this game is that the environments are absolutely gorgeous. Screenshots and videos don't do them justice.

Regardless, I cannot recommend this game to anyone. I'm shocked that anyone would pay $15 for this game, I feel ripped off even though I got it on sale. Apparantly lots of people have loved this game, but I simply found it to be a frustrating waste of time.
