I'm still pretty new. I was born to a colony of brown people. They named me Jesus. I buried the dead and hunted rabbits and goats and provided fur and meat. I got old, so I gave my clothes to younguns and went off to die. There was this road, so I decided to follow it to find out where it went before I died. I somehow survive the trip and find a colony of white people. I tried to speak with them and tell them of my journeys as Jesus, the rabbit slayer. They stabbed me and I died. 10/10 Would Jesus again.

I like how all the negative reviews focus on the slow updates, and I almost garuntee none of them opted into the testing, as they are saying there are no new areas, when there in fact are. Where as the game has problems, yes, the biggest I've noted is in my friends getting disconnected from my map and losing their inventory, but I'm sure that will be fixed in due time. I've also noticed a few graphical errors here and there, and with early alpha that is to be expected.
As for people saying they're not going to meet their deadline, so what? Maybe they will, maybe they won't, plenty of GREAT games have been delayed several times before release, that is to be expected with limited staff to test for bugs as you can't predict what people will or won't do to discover these. Plus, fixing bugs can be quite complex and usually more bugs arise from the fix. Zombies can find you through walls and ♥♥♥♥, but I've also noticed, you can avoid their attraction by being out of sight, and not making noise, granted the slightest movement into view or noise will attract them which is evidence of them working on the ability to sneak past them.
A lot of people say survival is near 0% alone, it is in fact not, I've played mostly alone and I survived 30 days without dying to a zombie once. The game can be quite challenging and very fun, I've had a lot of fun exploring and enjoying this game. There is still only the 1 survival map, but it is expanding and I still haven't fully explored it, nor even discovered all the crafting recipes, granted I have not looked them up, as the fun comes in learning it on your, own in my opinion. It's not for everyone and I personally enjoy fighting for my life against a horde of zombies crowding outside, or even inside if they make it, your house/whatever. Also, it's not like it's incredibly hard to bunker up for the night and just run away from the mob in the morning. My absolute favorite aspect is everything has a structural integrity causing you to have to think about building.
It will be amazing when it's fine tuned and polished, but it also has a great deal of fun to be had as it stands now.

This game is epic and I love it. I've only played a little but it's made me laugh and scream and want to cry. Play it. Love it. BE IT!
