Necesse is a game of multiple games. Drawing a lot of inspiration from Terraria, Minecraft, Stardew Valley and RimWorld. However, this can also be a major gripe, as in certain ways, elements of the game feel almost plagerised from its spiritual predecessors.

A quick example being how the first Minion summon set is literally obtained the same way as in Terraria, design-wise, is very similar and also results in a minion that could've been directly imported. There are also graphical elements that are functionally identical to their counterparts in Terraria, such as the inital fire seeds.

That being said, the game has a lot to offer and definitely a great deal of potential. I just hope that the dev decides to depart from trying to make a top-down mod of Terraria and allows their game to stand on its own merits, because, right now, it certainly can do that.

Riftbreaker is a combination of RTS/ARPG/Twin Stick Shooters and Resource Management games that borrows all the best elements and tucks them into one nice neat package.

You have the swarm fighting aspects of games such as Helldivers. You have the resource management aspects of games like Factorio or Mindustry. And you have the ARPG aspects of games such as Torchlight.

The way each parts of these usually quite distinct genres have come together in Riftbreaker is a breath of fresh air and makes for an exceptionally enjoyable experience. One which is only made better by reasonably decent voice acting and a big stompy mech.

I highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the aforementioned games/genres and is looking for something new to dig into.

There's nothing further I can say that hasn't been said by others. This game is utterly fantastic.

A simple yet fun game, but I won't be purchasing since it doesn't warrant it's price tag and Turtle Rock has already announced that there will be significant amounts of DLC added at a later date.

That is not how you sell a game.

Are you looking for the next best thing in RTS gaming? Are you hoping for modern and extended version of Supreme Commander?

Then look somewhere else.

The Good:

- Clean and concise Art style that doesn't really get old.

The Bad:

- Unoptimised beyond belief, even if you have a rig that smashes the games recommended requirements, it runs poorly and suffers from extreme slowdown in mid-late game.
- The 'orbital layer' feels awfully tacked on and lacks any strategic depth outside of blanketing your planet with orbital fighters.
- Gamechanging Bugs that have existed since the game became available to the public still remain. Nukes not being shot down by Anti-nuke missiles etc.
- The pathfinding is utterly atrocious, trying to send a huge army through teleporters is painful to watch and actually achieve.
- Horribly unbalanced. Certain units remain broken beyond belief even after months of constructive criticism from testers.
- No Offline Mode.
- Only one faction.

I regret paying for this game.

Killing Floor is an FPS that delivers on everything it advertises. Originally a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004, the Tripwire team decided to take the game to the next level and make it standalone and i'm so glad they did. One of the biggest highlights of the game is it's difficulty. If playing on levels past Hard, co-operation is vital and a lack of it is usually the cause for you getting grinded up in a large amount of meaty chunks, so it definitly is 'Co-op and survival'. The 'Horror' aspect, tends to be lost by it's lighthearted humour used by the characters ingame and the zombies themselves, which tend to get dressed up in the frequent free DLC released by the Tripwire devs.

On the downside, the game itself is very simple and the lasting appeal tends to be lost fairly quickly, meaning players will find themselves tiring of the game after a few rounds, but it is still easy to come back to the game and everything feel fresh and fun.

Easily one of the greatest games this decades. If you are the type of person who enjoys exploring a rich and detailed world with lots of backstory and hidden secrets, this is likely the game for you. There are a few issue that new players may have a hard time adjusting to, the combat system being the biggest one, but if you are able to look past a few of it's gameplay flaws, you are in for one of the most rewarding experiences ever.
