Early Access Review
It's been a long time since I've found a game that I can dump tons of hours into AND have a nearly endless great time with friends. Initially, I got this game for the Half-Life nostalgia, and after playing I got that and so much more. The SCP inspiration was a surprise since I had not seen anything about this game aside from the screenshots. Also, the survival crafting aspect of this game, which is the main focal point of the gameplay of course, is the best I've experienced. Goofing around with friends and building bases together has been such a fun experience. You don't need to play with friends if you don't want to! The solo experience is where half the time I've put into the game has gone into! Whether with friends or alone, I can't recommend this game more.

It's not often that you get a rhythm shooter, I've tried a majority of what's out there. This game is a culmination of everything I've been wanting for a long time. The combat feels amazing and satisfying, the music is awesome, and good GOD the movement is smooth. Custom songs are a huge plus too!

Let me start off saying this game is FANTASTIC. I love every aspect about it, and squading up with my friends is some of the most fun I've had with a game for a long time. However, a lot of my time has been spent on the startup screen. The issues don't seem to be getting better, in fact they seem to be getting worse. I have a lot of respect for the devs putting in so much work in order to solve the server issues they're having, but with the game in the state it's currently in, I can not recommend it as of now. Hopefully everything gets worked out soon, I want to get back to spreading DEMOCRACY once more.

Edit: Server issues seem to have been mostly fixed, it's in a very playable state now!

I really wanted to love this game. I grew up on Rhythm Heaven and it's the reason why I'm so into rhythm games today. This game if very clearly inspired by that game series, and it nails the style of gameplay and progression. But this game doesn't come close to scratching that itch for a new Rhythm Heaven. The mini-games are alright, nothing remarkable though. I enjoyed about 30% of them. However, the music is where this game really fell off for me.

Before each song, there a kind of "tutorial version" of the song. Just like Rhythm Heaven, these songs aren't meant to be bops. But unlike Rhythm Heaven, they don't get much better when you begin the scoring mode. Don't get me wrong, there were some good songs in there, like the Money Dream and Food Dream, but for the most part the music was kind of a snooze fest. Even when the songs try to pick up, I was almost always left with disappointment. There just wasn't enough "umph" to the songs, and that may be because of the choice of genre they developers wanted to go with.

I will say, the art style is absolutely stunning. Whoever was responsible for the art direction for this game deserves an A+ and gold star. It's one of the big parts of this game that drew me in initially. But the aesthetic of the game just isn't enough to make this a good recommendation in my book.

I really, really wanted to love this game. I decided to double my time with it during my playthrough in hopes that maybe it would get better. As you can tell, though, that wasn't the case. If you're looking for a game to scratch that Rhythm Heaven itch, really look into this game before buying it. Check out some of the songs and if you like them, go for it. But this game really isn't for me, and I expect it may end up disappointed a good amount of people.

Level 2-X is honestly the greatest thing I've witnessed in a rhythm game.

This game made me feel really emotional; I adore that response from a game. Absolutely amazing.
