By far the most replayable souls game. Weighty mechanics, tons of content, great fashion/PvP and just generally a lot of build variety. The game is consistently beautiful yet surprisingly optimised- I could run it at 60 on a HP Pavilion laptop!

If you're looking for a souls game that's going to last you a long time, you want to pick up DS2. My only concern is that it's different enough from the other games that you'll likely enjoy one type of Souls over the other- in my case, DS2 is my favourite.

Barely worth free.

In terms of Gameplay, Brawlhalla is inherently slow paced and defensive. The combination of floaty physics and lack of options such as DI mean the game spends most of its time in Neutral fishing for one of your weapon's designated "combo starter". Executing combos is purely based on memorisation, and escaping them is about hitting dodge in the combo's "dodge window". As a result, games are often boring and stale unless you purposefully play in an unoptimal fashion.
Credit where credit is due, Brawlhalla is the developer's dream - they've created a system that allows them to pump out near-identical characters at godlike speed, and they have a huge playerbase that eats it up like anything.

Ultimately, I would recommend Rivals of Aether if you care about the platform fighter genre on PC. Brawlhalla's saving grace is that it's free and easy to waste some time on while you're waiting for something better to happen.

Early Access Review
You should absolutely get this game. Literally the best roguelike on the market right now, and keeps getting updates/patches. No reason not to play RoR2 unless you straight up just hate yourself

I'd struggle to find anything bad about this game. I got it for free, from a friend, and thank ♥♥♥♥ I did because if he hadn't bought this for me I don't think I would have ever gotten to experience this masterpiece. The setting setting is a post apocalyptic 80s America, where all intelligent minds died in dysfunctional bomb shelters and the survivors fight over alchohol, which is just as great as it sounds. The writing and music are superb, and the voice acting is phenomenally accurate to the intended portrayal of the game's characters. The humor is one of my favourite parts, being the perfect amount of British sarcasm - I wouldn't be able to name another game that got a sharp exhale out of me from every single weapon tooltip.

As far as gameplay goes, it's dynamic, entertaining and entirely skill based. Surprisingly skill based, in fact, considering the nature of Roguelikes. However, more often than not you will always find yourself equipped with exactly the materials you need to survive, should you utilise them well. Enemies will shoot you, each other, and themselves whilst screaming American jibberish (just like real life) and still manage to pose quite a threat. You should never underestimate a yankie with a gun (also just like real life).

Graphically, it's runnable on my potato PC and still manages to look stunning. It's extremely stylised and does its job in making each of the randomly generated characters hilarious, and it does a good job at highlighting important objects such as temporary buffs (buzzes), traps, and storage containers.

Modding is incredibly easy, and the same friend that bought me the game also sent me his own modpack - You just drop the mod straight into the right folder, begin your game and it starts perfectly with no external launchers or workshop hassle. You can make new weapons, temp and perma buffs, and many other cool things with only a few lines of code and a texture file.

Honest to god review from someone who loved the game to death.
Let me go over the cons first, because there are way too many positives in this review section.
- A bit easy, but it can be forgiven.
- ♥♥♥♥♥♥ post-atari but pre-nes graphics (With the exception of a few scenes and the battles/shops)
- Bad fandom (You've probably seen them.)
- Plot Dumps. Lots of reading.
- Battle system where only their turn matters (It's unique, but I'd sure like it more if it wasn't a case of "press a button and then leave")
- Game acknowledges it's a game, tries to go meta, and fails because it's a game (That's only a small one though)
- SoQuirky tumblr humour.
- Kinda cliche in a lot of places

Now let's go over some positives.
- God tier soundtrack.
- Incredible writing / Character development.
- Heartwarming
- Includes a 'strong and independant' woman, a homosexual relationship and ambiguous genders (For the SJW types. Don't worry, it doesn't preach it.)
- Multiple routes, lots of secrets, easter eggs and extra content to last you a long while.
- Extremely fun bullet hell RPG setup
- I did kind of like the humour i guess

This game isn't for everyone. It's a niche RPG that tells a satisfying story and will stick with you. There's a demo you can play that will take you to the end of the first area, and if you don't like it by then, then don't buy the game. Just watch a lets play if you liked it but don't want to blow £7. It's a story game, you really won't miss out on anything but the fustration of getting slammed.
