Painfully generic, very grindy and average at best Third-Person-Shooter or Action "RPG" filled with Microtransactions.

Your customization options and the characters are on par with Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Story with his characters is.easly forgetable and thank god skipable.
Shooting 99 Magazines at a wall gives you the same experience as fighting one enemy and they come in waves.
Dumb AI with almost no variation through the game, just running at you and tanking all shots.
Crafting is pointless for the most part, everything is being replaced fast.
Horrible mission rewards.
Not a single interesting or creative quest or boss fight. Also it lacks weapons and game modes.

Dark Zone full of min-max optimized tryhards that can take out groups on his own and Speed, Teleport, SemiGodMode, Recoil/Spread/ReloadSpeed and what not-Cheaters, everything that isn't server side...

11/10 and don't forget to Pre-order one of the hundrets Editions of "Tom Clancy’s" The Division® 2 with paid inventory/stash extension

TL;DR: BDO is a fulltime job you don't get paid for, but instead asks you for money.

Still a Free-to-Play / Pay-to-Win game in it's core with a entry fee.
  • No meaningful PvE content !.
  • PvP with huge balance problems, exploits and server lags !.
  • It is not rewarding at all. Almost all quest, event, loyalty, returning, login and what not rewards are crap. Pray to RNG to get something usefull !.
  • To many stacking advantages behind a paywall to reduce the annoyness. Some of them you can optain in the market with ingame currency and a ~0,0000001% chance... if they even appear at all.
  • No visual changes on your character unless you pay, after hundrets of hrs you look as someone who just started the game.
The few outfits you can craft look ugly af and the once you get for a short time don't count. Also always the same that no one wants.
(you'll end up easly with a few hundret bucks for a semi-normal gaming expiriance.)

While the combat is one - if not the best out of every MMORPG out there
(and I hate all tab-targeting MMO's, this and ESO were the closest to a somewhat singleplayer experience I've found), everything else in this "game" is designed to waste your time as much as possible, timers and long-ass animations behind almost every action you do like a stupid free mobile game and most rewarding with AFK activites everyone uses macros and/or bots.
The world feels alive but at the same time, almost every player is AFK or set to autopilot because no fast travel and lifeskill.

(aka - the game you will barly play, if you want to progress, only background / second monitor.)

Have fun wasting time with killing the same mobs 10^12 times on the same spot, just to reach one level endgame and making a bit gold for RNG gear progression, that whenever it deciteds do fail, makes you grind for another dozen of hours and at the end, you'd never catch up unless you dedicate your life to it and your wallet. - the game.

Not to mention the utterly bad optimization, servers and pop-in / draw distance issues.

The sole purpose of DSR is being a Definitive Edition, with MORE improvements and fixes over the original, which it's not. Maybe for newcomers or people that only play this solo/offline, one playthrough and don't know where to look at.
We are left with more bugs in it's current state than the PtDE with DSFix.

-It got very few QoL changes.
-partially improved online.
-half-a**ed texture and lighning improvements with some downgrades and not touched areas at all.
-new matchmaking calculation that only hurts new players to the game trying to play together but doesn't change the fact that there are still weapons, armor and spells that turn you into god mode early on and you can pretty much one-shot beginners.
-60 FPS is not a feature, maybe for console... You will just not run into the side effects of DSFix for PtDE though.
-New "content" A Bonfire has been added next to Vamos.

It's like they flipped a coin on what to change and what not, most of the stuff is the surface to make it look good.

This "Remaster" is still riddled with bugs, glitches and exploits which some of them can softlock your character and the only way around this is to start over. The list. [darksouls.wiki.fextralife.com]

Multiplayer... In coop, enemies desync most of the time, for PvP the game is AGAIN full of cheaters and the "Anti-cheat" hasn't improved in the slightest. SEVEN YEARS!!!.

While you can have fun with PvP at ~SL20-40, But if you Host or Invade in the starting areas, the chances are high your characer will be ruined by cheaters, so... backup your save! DarkSoulsSaveManager [github.com] And make sure to block them on Steam afterwards

At "Meta" level (~SL120), ALL you see/do is Havels ninja flip into backstab, chain backstabs, toggle escape, reverse roll into backstab, hitstun, shield turtling till backstab... the fishing is real in this one.

Backstab, backstab, backstab, backstab... It's like apes in stone age - the most braindead experience you can have.

more exploits and counter exploits with exploits and some more of that backstab...ffs..thats all there is to.
Plus broken spawn locations for invaders, where you die instantly or can't proceed depending on the events the host triggers, gankers trying to spawn kill you while you're on a 10's timer, all that stuff can easily be abused and they haven't fixed it too. On top of that, people using modified stats cuz, you know, anti cheat and all that is so good.
And, yea... broken animations, glitched effects (some not displaying during invasions), missing textures, bugged out fog walls, sound glitches, weird lightning changes and so on.

As of Patch 1.01.1, the game is stuttering now and people can't see orange soapstone messages along with many, many more new bugs and crashes and no patch in sight. The only way to fix that, is to replace the exe with the old one.

Patch 1.01.2
Stutter fixed, messages appear again, book of the guilty crash fixed, minimum requirements bug fixed and some minor bug fixes.
No detailed patch notes for PC though as usual other than the pinned topic. official site [www.darksouls.jp]

A knife is the weapon I am most lethal with because basically I cut my salad with a knife every day. I have this mind-boggling knife set I bought at a discount, it's incredible.

So I cut the salad with my salad knife first and foremost, and then I make a few swings in the air with the other knives to make sure my melee skills with them don't suffer.
