So let me start by saying one thing. Yes it's not great this game has not yet been patched some 8 months since it's release, I do think that's pretty bad (luckily I didn't seem affected)However, Nier Automata is still one of the best games I have played all year.

There's somthing so strange about playing an open world game, in which the world is desolate and empty, and yet it seems so right. Normally we as gamers would be lighting torches and grabbing pitchforks at the idea, But honestly it's truly an incredible and really well built world. You really do feel like everything was just abandoned in an instant.

Not only is the world great, but the characters too. And this again is incredibly well done because really there's not actually that many of them. You grow to like each of the androids over the course of the game and by the end you have a much deeper understanding of who they are (I won't spoil anything)

One thing slightly off topic but definitely worth a mention is the soundtrack to this game, it's absolutely incredible. To the point where I actually had to source it to listen while I worked (and I never look for game ost's) but it is truly a work of brilliance. Each score is written perfectly for its associated time in the game and hearing them back I can picture the area. So kudos for that!

Overall the story of the game is really well done, admittedly it is a bit slow to start but I promise if you bear through the start, you will not regret it. Nier Automata truly is a diamond in the rough and definitely worth your time!
