When I first got this game a couple of years ago, I thought it was good, but not as good as Golf With Your Friends. However, I've recently been playing it again, and with all the new updates, I feel that this definitely is the better game in my opinion.

The mechanic of having to "swing" your mouse forward to take a shot rather than just pointing and clicking adds a whole new dynamic to computer golf. Not to mention the thousands and thousands of community made maps, and how well put together the map editor is.

One of my favorite things about this game in particular is the map editor. While GWYF has an editor, I feel that Golf It's editor is much easier to work with, makes more sense, and is overall very intuitive and is able to help keep a consistent workflow.
Just recently I've started making a map myself, and I've had an absolute blast doing so! I personally haven't played a game that can keep my attention for more than 20-30 minutes in years (I'm not a big gamer), but I've played this game for at least 20 hours in the last week alone.

Going back to the editor, in GWYF I had spent about 2-3 hours making only 2 holes, but in the same amount of time with Golf It I had made 5-6 holes. Much easier to work with and keep a workflow going.

Love this game overall, 11/10

I haven't even played for 30 minutes yet, and I love the game! For being mainly a one person project, I think it's coming along great, and from what I've read in the developer's notes I can't wait for the full release. To me, this game feels like a combination of Portal and either mini golf or those marble racing games.

If you are into puzzles or 3D platformers, I definitely recommend this game!

This game as it stands I think is really good. However, I also think it could be improved on greatly, and with a few additions and changes I feel like this game could be the next FNAF in terms of popularity. I just have a few points of constructive criticism.

While it stands extremely faithful to the source material, I feel that it needs more substance as a video game to give the player more sense of accomplishment. For example, the insanity mechanics of having to check your watch and remember who you are every thirty seconds is a great start, but if more challenges or even some puzzles were introduced to the game it would give the player more sense of direction rather than just wandering aimlessly hoping to find the exit. Along with direction or even some sort of story, the original backrooms theory tells about multiple levels to the backrooms which would perfectly fit into a game. Creating a system of achievements to progress deeper into the backrooms to find your way out through different levels.

With "It" lurking around in the backrooms being scary on its own, ultimately there isn't much actual danger. There is a sprint option in the game but not really anything to sprint from. Perhaps if there were hallucinations that would appear as you go insane that you would then have to run away from and then recover your sanity, just as an example. Just something more to the game to provide a sense of danger and creepiness. When I first played the game, it was spooky for sure, but it didn't take me long to realize that most of the spooky sounds I was hearing didn't actually reveal any sort of threat, but were just ambiance to make the game feel more scary. Once I learned this, the game became much less interesting and fun, since there wasn't much else to it besides just trying to find an exit.

As a gamemaker myself, I just want to say that overall this game is great, especially for being free to play. I enjoyed my first time playing, and I would definitely recommend this game if you're into the horror genre. Hopefully this comment reaches the developer(s), as I believe this game has MASSIVE potential to become something amazing!

EDIT:

Just realized that this isn't the full release xD
Figured it might not've been, but would still love to see mentioned above things in the game, especially the other levels of the backrooms.

As a mini golf enthusiast myself, it is a no brainer of a fun time. With features like online gameplay and custom map making, it only adds to the fun with lots of customization options, and of course as the title would suggest, playing golf with your friends!
