I've played the original for longer than I can remember. Probably started in somewhere around 2009 or 2010? Semi-simple, yet very fun sandbox game that attracts some of the greatest of creativity.

Been playing for a bit! I've loved the progression of this game's update and the release is almost exactly what I was expecting and hoping for. Beautiful!

+ It is practically THE melee combat VR game

+ Fun climbing and parkour mechanics

+ Mod support and ingame mod manager

+ Kinda pretty

10/10. Hoping for more enemies like the Golem! I found fighting the Golems quite fun. Being able to climb on an enemy and beat it up with my bare hands is EXACTLY what I was hoping for.

Storymode: Great! That is it

GTA Online: The most BIZARRE gaming experience. There's so many hackers doing so many different and weird things. There's so many mechanics, that you can get hackers to call YOU a hacker because they didn't realize that your Meth Mobile could withstand dozens of missiles. It's almost objectively a bad game experience, but it's so fun anyways for me.

Taking a drive downtown in my giant truck, slamming into cars so hard that they detonate (this does not accrue me wanted levels.) You see a jet on the map near you and it's moving real weird and slow. Turn the corner, and it's a UFO that a hacker generated. A plane crashes into it and someone dies trying to kill me after they shoot me with an RPG a little too close to my explosive-proof mobile acid lab. I drive further down where there's tons of people near a helicopter icon. The helicopter is an entire gymnasium in actuality, and people are trying to fly onto it with jet-powered bicycles. (mk1). A few minutes later, everyone is suddenly put into a session by themselves. (one of the like, 5 hackers in that lobby used a fancy kick on everyone)
It's a beautiful world.

Be warned that GTA Online is 3 things: Fun, grindy, and filled with hackers.

Core gameplay is pretty fun, but it felt more fun when I first started playing. Enemy design is getting more frustrating, weapons are getting worse, and game crashes are EXTREMELY frequent. Old bugs and softlocks aren't being fixed.

Progressively, the updates aren't making the game more engaging. Neither content additions or balance passes feel very meaningful, not even nudging the core gameplay loop. It feels even stronger more than ever that on higher difficulty, you must run away from large groups of enemies all the time. Poor update direction leaves many weapons unfun to use and/or unimpactful. There's softlocks and horrible game bugs that have been present since launch, on the "Known Issues" tabs on their update logs to this day. The game is still unavailable in I think ~180 countries now? Even though they sold to those countries. Doesn't look like they're ever going to make that right.

It's sad. It's a fun game at it's core, and there are some cool plots and updates. I liked the black hole plot, I like the new jungle environments. There's just no new high moments in gameplay, and game stability is progressively getting worse. No new exciting enemies; mostly just tankier slogs. New guns are sometimes good, but a lot of additions are unexciting. A throwing knife that takes up your grenade slot. With spread. That goes nowhere near the crosshair. And the latest fire changes were just a downgrade to the game as a whole. Why?

I love this game! High hopes that they add a much higher player count; I think the game would highly benefit from having tons of players for both content creators and fun. Maybe also multiple cameras?

I played the playtest extensively; I don't know why people are insisting the movement changed. It doesn't feel like it to me and it feels great to me still. The Finals has always been slower feeling to its competitors in genre; a bit of homesickness perhaps after not playing it since the open beta closed?

Surprisingly good. The gameplay loop reaches its end stage quick, but the exploration and sandbox aspect can be enticing. A little janky, a little buggy, but not too bad. I recommend turning off item loss on the rare, but not impossible prospect of randomly instantly dying. Receives consistent updates to this day and has surprisingly good VR support. Also is crossplay!

If you like the idea of a somewhat simple exploration focused game you'll get a handful of good hours out of it. Having practically completed the game, I find yet enjoyment in visiting the content in new updates, making bases with friends, and hunting the galaxy for unusual planets. You might not like the game depending on what you are looking for but I certainly did.

The VR support is actually something pretty special, You can go to player central places and the motions you make with your hands and arms actually render on other platforms. The shenanigans possible because of this are Unlimited

Early Access Review
Got this game the day Act 2 came out after having followed its development for a long time. Got to 6-2 in a few hours, 1 sitting, and it was a fantastic experience. Can't wait for the Morbius x Ultrakill crossover update.
