Ok so it goes really well into the ideas of personality via our brain, and the story is good, and somtimes funny. But the controls are clanky , and the bosses are easy, buggy and their themes are weird.

The one thing these kind of games needs to nail is clarity. Yet, shooting an arrow sometimes end up hitting an invisible wall and sometimes the ability is canceled all together forcing the camera to move back and forth from you aiming to the middle of the screen. Now I see most players do the melee build, and that is fine, but for us archers and mages we can't really play if we don't know what our abilities will hit. It's not just that, some enemies hit boxes are really not what they seem on first glance. No clarity. On top of that I got frame drops, in this kind of game, on a 2080GTX I7-49. really? I can't even enjoy it.

Game is just a very very easy rouge like- I never got to the first boss in the first run in any other game, and I nearly even defeated him, without knowing his skills (he had really random stuff) usually all bosses are random and weird and you need to lose to them to understand them, but the bosses were super easy to understand, I dont have the feeling I want to try again because I feel inside like I lost interests in the challenge of the game.

Like many chance to hit games before it (Xcom is the big one), The fights in Wildermyth end up a game of positive loop. If you don't know the term. A "positive loop" is when a game rewards you for wining so strongly that if you win its hard for you to start losing. Yet, if you lose at the start, like in Xcom, you get really weak rookies that will keep the loop of you losing because they die faster. Because of how the HP system works in the game, monsters and you might die to one attack, and even if you keep your ranged attackers away, some monsters have a lot of movement and range attacks too, and even at a low 20% to hit they can crit and end up all of your run. So you basically just restart the run till you get a 0 death first fight, and a few good next fights and then you just steamroll so hard the last boss died without any of your team being hit or die. This is the loop. The stronger you get the stronger you will get, forever. In a game so high on chance its like gambling, and its not tactical and for me, not fun.

I don't like "build your own" kind of games, but this one has a clear goal attached to it's building system. Find five bosses and kill them. There are so many cool features in the game, and most of those things are up to kill you, and it's your job to find a way to keep yourself alive.
