If you like mild survival games this might be for you.

Pros
Very few bugs

Fairly decent graphics

So far the story is interesting

Humorous story line situations

Decent AI for soldiers (on normal difficulty they are tough early on so expect to die, In general they tend to fallback, use cover, regroup, and flank your character)

Cons
The shark is a petty annoyance instead of a real threat.

So far content is limited. I have caught up to the end of chapter one in roughly 25 hours of taking my time.

The story line stations are the only stations that are different. Other stations are basically the same, One side has a basalt area where you combat soldiers and can use the pedestal to open chests you get from events. The other side has the trade station and slot machine as well as the fortune teller.

Technology progresses rather quickly when you make items and trade them for research points. At 25 hours my train is fully decked out and I have finished all upgrades.

While weapon crafting is decent having storage for them is hard. Each weapon can be broke down into multiple pieces and once broke down they fill up storage rapidly. The wheel in selecting weapon parts only supports 7-8 items and if you have more than that in your inventory the crafting wheel will not work.

Image labels for storage is very limited.

Cannot put enclosure on the front of the train with the upgraded engines.

Conclusion
The game is fun and I'm looking forward to future updates.

I enjoyed building and designing my junk ship. Then fought pirates and their core blew apart my ship and I rebuilt. Then fought more and rebuilt again, and again. Ships spawn on your face ripping parts off your ship and wedge themselves against your ship making the weapons virtually impossible to use. Made tons engineers between rounds to just dismantle their ship rapidly even though they have no sense to stay out of the range of the weapons I do get to use and drop like flies. Game is poorly optimized and every time pirates spawn in the how game become so laggy that its nearly unplayable. Perhaps mods could save this game but its dead in the water.

While the game is charming it is more geared for beginners in the genre and offer no challenge to seasoned resource management gamers. I would certainly recommend this game for ages 8-12 as an introductory game in the managment simulation game genre.

So my first impressions of world adrift is that PVP absolutely sucks if your just starting out. I spend roughly an hour and a half trying to build a STARTER ship just to have a player kill me for the beginner items that I have on me. Try to talk to them but they don't even talk back they just lurk around until I go in start building a ship frame and start shooting at me while I'm building. While in PVE each time I arrive and an island I have to flee due to the sudden and constant Blight attacks. It would be nice to at least get off the damn ground in a game about flying.

Contrast use of light and shadow mixed with the beautiful music and ambiance make it a game well worth the price. The idea of the game is simple, complete the objective. Although the approach is different and the gameplay is not perfect the effect and emotions portrayed by the character and the abstract realism make this game shine. The voice actors did a remarkable job with the script they were given as well. While the creators could have shown the world from our view, using dawns perspective allowed for them to cut the out all of the extras that would have dragged the game down such as rendering multiple characters and dressing them differently. The artistic use of a disintegrating world aspect allowed for the playable area to be clearly marked while still aesthetically pleasing. The only downfall that is apparent is the length of the game. A sequel to this game or possible a franchise would definantly get my money. Hopefully in the sequel will be longer and the characters mouths will move.
