Overwatch 1 got killed because they wanted to deliver a grand story mode with skill trees and the like.
What we got was an empty, free to play Battle Pass model that only serves to make Blizzard money.

Every other season you have the choice of spending £9.99 to play the new content or spending 30+ hours levelling to unlock the character, most of the casual player intensives like cosmetic rewards are no longer available for f2p players unless you are happy with earning a voice line once every 3 months. Having spent £40 on the game in 2016 its a slap in the face to be compensated with two of the ugly cosmetics and a icon for a thanks for supporting their game for the past 6 years

The game being released on steam is just a trap to lure in more players into their dying game so they can try to get more people to pay them money.
Don't fall for it.

Having played Overwatch since 2016 Its depressing to see how low this franchise has sunk.
