Fantastic.

I bullied my friend into buying this game

I am so happy that I gave this game a second change.
I was put off by the horrible launch of this game but after so many updates, reworks to certain features and systems and a fantastic expansion, this game has become one of my all-time favourite open-world RPGs.

First off, Night City is just beautiful. Towering skyscrapers with kitch design and neon lights lighting up the night sky, exploring a dystopian city like this has never been more immersive. Where I went, there was always something to see and do. Unique side missions and details like small vendors and shops selling me food and items that will be useful throughout my journey through Night City. Same can be said with Dogtown, sporting different varities in looks and feels in an otherwise compact district of Pacifica.

The soundtrack is fantastic and I always find myself listening to them outside of the game, one of my favourites being the ones heard in Edgerunners, a fantastic series that I also highly recommend if you like anime and crying.

And I love the story. There are so many story beats, twists and turns which leads up to the penultimate endings of the game, each being a unique outcome and each making me shed a tear one way or another.

Gameplay is fast and fluid and has a lot of variety depending on your playstyle. Become a netrunner and quickhack enemies while using throwing knives, hammer through enemies while using your sandevistan to slow down time and essentially become a witcher, use a monowire and slice through enemies, the possibilites are endless.

There is so much to do in both main and side missions, however you play there will be differences and consequences in each and every playthrough.

So many bonuspoints for making the experience seamless. There are no loading screens at least that I know of. Whereever I went, there were no loading screens or cutaways and the immersion was never ruined.

Fantastic game, fantastic port. Persona 4: Golden stands as one of my favourite games with a life-changing experience. If you love visual novels, fun gameplay, music that straight up bangs and a mysterious murder mystery ventured by you and a cast of amazing characters, go for this game!

I'm happy to see Pyrocynical covering a video of this game because honestly, apart from being a spooky horror game, Cry of Fear tells an excellent story of a character going through a horrible trauma and is depicted in such a poetic and engaging way.
This game deserves a recognition where it's not just known for it's grotesque and scary design, but for its storytelling and how it confronts the story with gameplay elements.

The most impressive thing about it, is that it's free! But you should still consider supporting the dev team even if it's just means playing or finishing the game.

Because with it's resurgence, the Source remake might be possible and it would be awesome to see a facelift like Half-Life to Black Mesa.

Play it alone or with a friend, you're gonna love it!

My favourite FPS game of all time. It inspired me to play more games that blends story-telling and gameplay, and also inspired me to create and write my own worlds. Thank you for everything <3
