What little I played was fun, sadly my pc is closer to minimum specs than recommended, so It wasn't running well for me. Once I can upgrade my pc, ill check it out again, see how it is.

Really cute game, fun but simple mechanics, with a good sprinkling of good humor.
10/10 recommend

Yeah, the hype. Its there. Game has its own unique slew of bugs but honestly? With how complex all this is that PP has put together, im surprised its not BUGGIER. Thats kinda been the norm to expect from these kinda situations.

Now the drama about it:
I have gone out of my way to try and NOT like this game and find any shred of proof of the claims about it (genAI, ripping [The Company That Must Not Be Named] models,etc) and I just...cant. If they used GAI then theyre doing one hell of a job covering it up. and i have yet to find any Pal that looks like i could have ripped it out of one of their games. Some that look kinda similar if you squint, sure, but i aint gonna fault someone for drawing inspo from one of THE biggest monster collector franchises out there. The claims that it plays more like Ark than 'Mons with guns are very much on point tbh, as someone who used to play Ark before it...yeah.

Now, my cons so far:
A lot of the under the hood ai (as in behavioral, not generative) IS a bit...wobbly would be generous i suppose. But that also seems to be a person to person kinda issue, cuz my friends will complain the Pals are a bit wonky in their behavior, though ive had more problems when testing using the various gang members as base crew, so I guess its a hit or miss on what youre gonna get.
The combat can be /interesting/ to say the least. enemy Pals seem to have aimbot sometimes with their attacks where when i use the same attack it feels like it has none of the same tracking.
The ads for the game actually OVERSELL the abundance of guns, you dont get your first gun in the craft trees til level i think 20+? idr, its just a musket so im not even gonna waste my time and resources learning and crafting it. The guns you see in the ads are very much late game gear.

But, all in all, an experience I would personally recommend so far, and all for the surprising price tag of 30$ USD.

Legit, the rest of you games industry types need to take notes, THIS is how you get good revenue, not by predating your consumers, but by offering a solid experience for a reasonable price.
