Incredible art direction and great gameplay make this "Metroidvania" a very fun ride. The game is difficult, but forgiving. Platforming is very trial-and-error with new mechanics getting chained on top of what you already know. Failure usually means you're going to die, but the ability to save virtually anywhere keeps the game forgiving enough. The chase sequences especially put everything you know to the test.

Graphics and music are incredible. It's an artistic vision that all flows together perfectly.

One minor issue is that the controls tend to take some getting used to, especially if you use a keyboard. Especially after you get the Hold-Shift and Hold-W skills, you'll find yourself failing to activate them occasionally or the game just releases it.

Another minor issue is that for completionists, you cannot go back to the game once you've finished. If you're told "no coming back", then note that this is the last section of the game and you should go back and nab 100% of the goodies. Some people may not care, but those that do, it's a nuisance.

Overall, complaints are minor and the final product is great. Got about 10hr of enjoyment trying to grab everything. YMMB.

Excellent game.

Surprisingly deep combat system that continues to encourages you to experiment. Mini optional side-missions force you to experiment.

Great story along the lines of Bastion. Steers too close to Bastion at times, but the combat system alone sets it apart.

Solid story and solid controls. It's best quality and biggest flaw is that it follows the plot and characters of the original Deus Ex far too closely.

I really like the game, and I found the stupid cake. It was never a lie. Please stop propagating that meme.

The best multiplayer of all time is now free to play. It would be blasphemous to turn this down.
