TLDR: Garbage! Literally Garbage.

Horse girls review:

This is the third game they have used the exact same horse asset pack. It's not good, not by todays standard, and they are clearly just adding horses to try and capture the horse game market, without actually adding anything of substance.

Holy moly this game is competing with an ANT HILL for the amount of BUGS. Does no one at Games Incubator do QA testing? Are we just releasing games the moment the last line of code is written?

Lazy game design. It's clear its just whatever asset packs they have already purchased smushed into a new game title in order to try and make a quick buck out of you. If this company actually took the time to make something of quality, I reckon they'd actually do pretty well considering how many titles they churn out every few months.

This game is designed to pique your interest when you first boot up, but it quickly becomes apparent its just the same format: Drive to get animal, drive back, train animal, drive to drop animal off. There is no story, no real progression, and there are only horses and dogs in the game.

I do not trust this company anymore, and will expect the same low quality games from them in the future.

Finally, a horse game that isn't rubbing my mouse in circles to brush my horse or running from point A to point B.

While it is a little rough in it's current state, I have that gripe with the concept of early access more than TORR specifically.

Pros:
-It's free
-Incredible control design
-Stylized graphics
-Voice lines
-Game was clearly made by someone who is an equestrian
-Lessons had a purpose and were challenging
-Around 40 minutes of gameplay

Cons:
-No Quest markers, journal, or tutorial
-Horse model + animations are not always as true to life as they could be
-AI Voice lines (I think)
-Content is a little lackluster after lessons are completed

Such a promising title, this game is absolutely carving the way for horse games!

This is a surprisingly good game!

I was concerned when I saw the use of asset store horses, as the ones currently available on the market aren't particularly impressive HOWEVER the game itself is quite varied and enjoyable!

Pros:
- Not 'saving the ranch' storyline (THANK GOODNESS)
- Simple graphic style
- Good storytelling
- Good game mechanics
- Cart driving (omg no horse game does this!)
- Interesting challenges
- Set in a modern world

Cons:
- Some assets don't fit well with graphic style
- The camera can be restrictive at times
- Horses are from asset pack and aren't very accurate to life
- AI voicelines

Overall this game is genuinely a breath of fresh air in the horse game space and despite the horses not being particularly realistic, the gameplay more than makes up for it.

This game is an insult to equestrians and horse gamers alike. With the horses, grass, and other terrain being bought from the Unity Asset store, stuttering gameplay and unacceptable rider animations, this game smells of cash grab.

Pros:
-Nice enough lighting
-Solid character writing
-Lovely character artwork and UI

Cons:
-Bugs
-Gameplay stutters
-Horse handles like a school bus
-Female character looks uncanny valley
-Constant clipping through saddle and horse
-Rider has the worst jump seat I have ever seen
-Rider animations look like they were created by someone who has never seen a human ride a horse
-Features that do not make sense to people who know anything about horses (mounting in a stable, calling a broken down hot walker a 'round pen')
-Poor gameplay design (making me walk my horse 150meters to talk to a character who has a cell phone, and I cannot increase the pace because I haven't learnt how)


Overall I am appalled by the state of this game, and the fact that Games Incubator has been working on this title FOR YEARS. Do not buy.

We are now 2+ months past EA release and the game has seen little to no content updates. I understand that the game has had its progress reset 3 times before release but this is not in a playable state.

Pros:
-The horse model is good
-The graphic style is unique
-Devlogs are reasonably frequent

Cons:
-Animations stutter on change
-Hard to control
-No Rider
-No tack (Apart from Saddle)
-No NPCs
-No Quests
-No Story
-Jumping activity is buggy
-Only Small indoor and outdoor arena are accessible
-Updates are slow and lacklustre

This is a picture-taking simulator. Do not buy until the game has had adequate updates.

-Beautiful Graphics + Colours
-Progress is slow
-Cozy music and sound effects
-The horses are adorable
-Day night cycle
-Seasons

Cons:
-Aggressive Capitalism
-Time pressure on horse training
-A few bugs
-Lots of monotony when training and racing


The reason I listed 'slow' as a pro is because sometimes its good to have a game that has slower pacing like Stardew Valley does. Sure if you want adrenaline and excitement this isn't the game you are looking for but if you want to curl up after a long day and dive into a warm and immersive world then click the add to cart button pronto.

However one serious flaw with this 'slow and gentle' approach is that horses only have a set amount of potential points to put into training. But once you own a horse, every day that goes by will rob your horse of 1 potential point, meaning you have to train it if you want to get the most out of the horses. This conflicts with the pacing of the game since I now feel stressed to get as much training in as possible. May want to rethink that feature.

Monotony is a big factor in the game as training and racing need to constantly be repeated in the same way in order to progress. But you may find that you enjoy a routine or simplistic tasks to sooth a racing mind. So really it's down to preference.

Overall this is a great game, well priced and feels like labour of love. It's not perfect but it is 100% worth a try if you like horses, cozy games or routines.

-Separate place for horse ranch
-You can ride the horses

-Un-intuitive controls
-The horse models are pre-made assets
-Horses are poorly animated
-Very repetitive gameplay
-Horses can't be sick or injured
-You can't see what a horse looks like before naming it (some of them are so ugly my god)
-Some of the equine backstories don't make sense. Found one horse in a sewer apparently.

Overall cute game, you could certainly get your moneys worth. But in terms of horses, the execution was pretty lazy and slap dash. As is per usual with games that add horses without considering how complex and nuanced they are.

-Fun horse petting minigame
-You can mount from behind!!!
-Cool building mechanic (in part)
-Simple customization for horse and rider

Cons:
-Crazy amount of bugs + glitches (they are being patched though)
-No Minimap
-No navigation system
-No fast travel
-Very little help or instructions
-Takes way to long to get around the map
-Keyboard controls are janky
-Camera is not centred on your character which can be headache inducing
-Boring story
-Flashing waypoints on screen which are distracting
-Sound design is pretty poor
-Races are hard and painful to do
-Point A to B quests
-Lackluster characters

Honestly when I went into it I didn't expect rdr3, I wanted to embrace the game as a casual and cozy game.

However after my 11hrs of playing, at no point did I feel relaxed because the game mechanics are awkward and frustrating. Bugs aside, this game feels like they tried to simply pull the 'good' elements from different games and mash them into one, but it left the game feeling patchy, unfinished and somewhat infuriating to play.

I'd also like to note that Aesir Interactive is the same developer that made Ostwind: Ari's Arrival. Which coincidentally was also released with gamebreaking bugs. I really do hope that going forward, more testing is done to avoid this again.
