As of right now, I've only put around 10 hours into the game. It is not a whole lot but having played the beta and seeing how they've handled season 1, I am pretty confident that I have an idea of how the game is going to be developed. I've played Splitgate 1, and I personally was not super into it. I was younger, and I genuinely do not think its gunplay was anything special.

Comparing my memories of Splitgate 1 to my current experience in Splitgate 2 feels like night and day. You can tell that they focused on making the core gameplay snappy and not let the portal gimmick get in the way of a solid foundation. All the different factions have vastly different weapons, and I think that's part of why I'm loving Splitgate 2 so much. I'm a fan of Planetside 2 and seeing how unique each faction's arsenal is really blows me away.

Gunplay aside, you can really move in this game. You have a jetpack and sliding. Both of these are simple but work so well together. If you get some momentum, you can literally just glide across the map and it is amazing. It's buttery smooth.

I genuinely do not think Splitgate 2 is this mess of a game people make it out to be. It's very polished; more so than the original, and you can tell they have a clearer vision. The BR mode is one of the fastest in the genre, and it is a pretty unique take on it too. If you have the time, the game is absolutely worth a try.

You should under no circumstances be subjected to have to pay for frame data in your fighting game. Frame data needs to be a free and open resource for all and given the fact that they made it paid it says a lot of how Bamco operates. I'm glad the definitive edition has this included, if not then I'd never buy it. Be sure to get Tekken 7 off a third party site. Saves you money.
