90% discount gang where you at? Imma be real, I would never pay full price for this. That said, I found the game in its minimalist gameplay and mysterious atmosphere somewhat interesting but it got boring fast. It's more like an art project where meaning in its visual narrative and aesthetics is attributed by the individual viewing it. Idk it just wasn't for me and I'm surprised the majority had such a positive experience.

Each characters individual narrative was so well written as it comes together as one big captivating story. I haven't shed a tear in such a long time and I can't express my gratitude enough for this priceless experience. Watching the events and emotions unfold ushered by my reaction speed and decision making, I felt like I wasn't just playing a game, I was learning from it and attained a lot of enlightenment on my present identity. Thank you, Quantic Dream <3

I tried playing it by making coercive choices that in my mind simulate the written characters personalities. The old hag between chapters asking about the Tarot cards kept breaking my immersion and gives out potential spoilers for future outcomes if you choose to seek more information (had my suspisions about her and later on got closure). Gameplay is more like a beautifully animated motion-capture mini-series of interactive cutscenes, in most cases when you get the option to explore it makes little to no sense in doing so, even if there was something to find, it kind of ruins the pace of the story. I like to consider myself logical and rational, and with that in mind I found the majority of the post decision dialogue and the overall forced outcomes somewhat infuriating (atleast the first half of the story). The choices you make don't seem to change anything unless it's a life or death scenario which you can't really predict as you have no power over the story. And the way some of these characters are written makes them seem so dense as if they don't have any base intelligence or survival instincts at all (again first half, maybe the story is meant to display some character development or perhaps that was my decision making. At this point I'm not even sure anymore). Still, I guess it's supposed to mimic a classic American teen horror flick so good job in that regard. Overall plot was aight'. If you watch movies you can clearly see the characters are portrayed off and played by real life actors/actresses. The graphics and cinematography are astonishing. Sound production did an amazing job. The credits are well done, I think this might be the first time I actually sit through one. The podcast was fun to listen to. Got it from HB, would not recommend at full price as there's practically no gameplay but if you're aware of that and looking to watch a movie of sorts, I'd still say get it at like 50% off. I'm sort of stuck in between as you just have to give praise to the visuals and sound but the gameplay and choice matters aspect is really lacking.

Edit: Changed the review to negative as I am a pessimist. 2+(-2)=0, neutral status is a drawback in my book.

Used to enjoy the game and recently started playing again as a casual while I have music blasting in the background. I do not understand the mentality of the playerbase. I am not good anymore whatsoever, I do not understand the hitbox/FOV/surroundings/ball speed yet (used to be diamond), but that's not the issue. Still manage to perform and keep up. My issue remains with the players being so indignant. I had to disable chat. The instantaneous forfeit vote call when the enemy scores once and the griefing that follows is insane. And I can see that they aren't good either. No rotations, passes, boost control, aerial mechanics etc.. If you can't take a loss and better yourself why even launch the game, why take your frustration out on others? Does F2P seriously attract such deficient audience? I have a lot of hours so I got my pays worth back in the day, but the game has lost its mojo for me due to the players it attracts. I read a few other reviews aswell stating Epic Games ruined this beloved game. I have not had issues with servers and do not care much for the cosmetics but I can understand their resentment towards new management.

1st game I've tried in this series.
Story is decent, trying not to be biased as mythological beings have always somewhat interested me.
Combat starts off simple but gets much more engaging as you progress. Some of the Valkyrie fights were pretty challenging. Enemy variety is lacking, but the combat is fun enough to make up for it. Gameplay pretty linear.
Graphics and cinematics are amazing. Voice acting and characters were compelling enough to keep me engaged. I love Brok <3
Overall I'd say it should be on any must play list.

Cluck me! This was a good experience. Only thing missing is the possibility to go back and finish missing achievements but I guess another future playthrough is feasible for this gem.

A solid cinematic narrative-driven experience. The voices and overall sound, paired with great visuals, definitely made the ambience more thrilling and kept the gameplay from becoming dull. For me the combat was quite enticing, yet sometimes it felt like the target switching wasn't fully responsive. Puzzles are simple and add more to the gameplay, but I would've preferred a more adventurous approach focused on her schizophrenic behavior with additional combat. I didn't really care for the protagonists personal reasoning to go on this journey as the whole love thing is a bit of a cliche, I think the events that took place in her absence and psychosis in a Norse mythological era would've been enough for a good emotional story-driven plot.

Unique take on the "horror" genre. IMO not really horrific, just a bizarre adventure game. Expected to close the game in like 10 minutes of playtime since the game isn't really my style but I actually thoroughly enjoyed it. Managed to finish it in less than 3 hours. I feel like I missed a lot of content and somehow just rushed through the campaign. For the most part I had no idea what the plot is about as it just throws you in the game but by the time it ends you'll have some thoughts on the subject.
Movement might take a little time to get used to.
Overall it's unique atmosphere makes it worthwhile, but considering how short it is I'm not sure it's worth the full price.
I only played the base game. I'd assume the DLC's add a lot to the story.
