A platformer inspired by Cave Story and Dark Souls, this game is simple and yet very challenging, with many bosses to defeat and items to collect.

The items allow you to customize your play, giving you extra speed, long ranged attacks and a ghost clone, to name a few. And of course some of these items are hidden in hard-to-spot rooms and behind interesting bosses, creating a great sense of progression as you unlock more of them and open up your options in combat.

The difficulty is certainly there, specially if you are not playing on easy. Bosses will pack a punch, but they telegraph their moves with their smooth animations, which is where you see the Dark Souls inspiration.

And to top it off, it has pretty graphics and cute characters. Even if it's kinda short (I could finish it in 1 hour on easy) it contains a new game+ mode, and the hard mode will most likely put up a nice challenge. I'm sure I'll come back to this game multiple times yet.

Oh, and I definitely recommend that you also check out Momodora 2, which is more of a "metroidvania", and is free.


PS: only reason I compare this to Dark Souls is because the dev talks a lot about it on twitter, you guys can chill

Can't recommend this game enough. Mastering all characters and adapting to what the game can throw at you is enough of a challenge to fuel hundreds of hours of gameplay.
