I left my computer on running this game for like 14 hours. Pretty good game. Not quite 4x, but a reasonable effort. DLC is too expensive, otherwise I would have picked up the collection.

Excellent little game, deceptively difficult. Honestly, I picked it up because I loved Might and Magic III, and I came across The Spiffing Brit's video on it. I wanted to break the game and have some raucous fun, but the developer is very active and tends to patch the exploits the Brit finds within a week or so, so I haven't gotten to explore one yet xD

But for all that, the game is fun and diverse, charming, and chaotic. Everything I love about these little time-wasters. I call it a time-waster because that's what it appears to be, but there is a surprising amount of depth to be found. Excellent game, and one that I can see myself playing for a very long time indeed.

Simple and fun, the maps are insanely huge and the battles literally never end. The only thing I have to complain about is sometimes it's difficult to tell where the fighting is happening. All in all, 8/10, fun distraction with engaging gameplay, little to no paywall to have fun.

The bad reviews warded me off of this game for a long time, and I finally picked it up when it went into Humble Monthly. I've been playing a good bit, and I think I can now write a relevant review.

First, this is not a MOBA. There are some MOBA-like elements to the Multiplayer, but it plays essentially reminiscent to CoH or CoH2. The MOBA elements in the multiplayer consist entirely of the following:

1. To win, you must destroy the enemy's Power Core
2. To destroy the power core, you must destroy at least one turret
3. To destroy a turret, you must destroy its paired Shield Generator

That's it. That's all of it. Outside of that, it plays as a standard resource-point RTS. And it is HARD. There is some discussion claiming that the only units that really matter are the Elites, and the standard units come off as "minions" a la League of Legends, and have very little impact on the game. This is patently false. The standard units are important in the extreme; to defend your battlefield, you must create a cohesive board strategy, and a great part of that strategy involves proper positioning of proper units. The build progression on Multiplayer is the standard build progression...nothing is free, and all units are available if you move through their tech trees. I walked into it expecting a League-like experience, from the reviews, and I was utterly rocked...I repeat, this is NOT a MOBA.

The campaign itself is fun and engaging, with only the odd wooden acting and some bizarre choices on scale to detract from it. The armies play very distinctly (though I wish there were more of them), but I would indicate that unless you play it on normal or hard, you can mostly just steamroll through the missions with a mixed blob, and nary a thought to strategy.

All in all, I'd give it a 9/10: well-executed, beautiful, and fun, with only the limits on choice of army to detract from the experience.

Honestly, I don't know what everyone is so mad about.

Early review here, only one game under my belt. I had intended to pick this up during the Humble Bundle, even though my rig didn't come anywhere close to the minimum requirements, as I intended to upgrade my computer at the end of the month. Out of curiousity, I installed the game, just to see if it would run...bear in mind, I'm operating a low power rig with a Maxwell Architecture Nvidia GTX 950, 6Gb DDR3 RAM and an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600.

It runs. Weirdly, my experience was pretty consistant with the experiences described by those who complained, even though my rig is under-powered for the game. Anyway, I will update this review later once I've developed legitimate opinions about the game, I just wanted to say that the optimization is probably not the culprit, given that my under-powered rig had a consistent experience to an over-powered rig....more likely it's just poor programming.

But the game is fun :)

Glad to see this game finally getting the love it deserves. Yeah, it's not a Killer App, yeah it's no Call of Duty or Battlefield, but you know what? You get to dress like Halo, fly on Jetpacks, and fight dinosaurs with Lightsabers. This game is awesome.

Bad Bots, at first, turned me off. I played three minutes, then shelved it for a year. Just recently though, I picked it back up and gave it a go again, and was nicely surprised! The art style is actually very cool, and the weapons feel potent. All in all, a nice little shoot-em-up, with a single platforming moment that comes out of nowhere, I can confidently say it achieves what it sets out to do: It's fun :)

This game is good ._.
