Comedy as a videogame genre

bad timing to play this right after It Takes Two, but still a good sequel

I discovered this game by chance and enjoying it a lot so far. By comparison, I also recently bought super monkey ball banana mania (which I had never played before nor any other smb game) and I'm actually enjoying Glyph way more. It offers more of the sensations I had imagined for this kind of game (even if the comparison stops beyond a certain point as they are quite different games) and I totally understand the appeal from speedrunners (feels like it was actually made by speedrunners to be honest).

Pros :
Graphics holding up well
Most bosses are well designed, dungeons are beautiful and diverse
Enormous attention to all armor/weapons designs
Cities are beautiful (except Kugane)
Bestiary is incredibly diverse
Mount, skins, glamor (think transmog in wow), companions... This game is all about LOOKING GOOD
Craft system is intriguing, you get spells like if you were playing a combat class. Probably the best take in all MMOS
Awesome soundtrack

Cons :
Most areas look alike, lazy world building most of the time. Some areas are still interesting especially in Heavensward and Shadowbringer.
Main story quest is L O N G and sometimes you'll spend hours doing nothing but fedex quests
Stat system leaves 0 freedom for theorycrafting and better gear just means "get more of the same stats"
lots of things to do, but most of it is boring or useless
PVP is dead
All normal difficulty dungerons/trials/raids are just too easy, some of extreme difficulty is still way too easy
Gathering jobs... Not saying they are bad but I wish I could actually collect a flower patch to get flowers instead of the same glittering bush for ANY component

Mixed :
Endless dungeons are repetitive and boring in my opinion, but still fun with friends. The only 4 player content which might force you to use more than 2 brain cells.

TL;DR : if you have the time for the tedious leveling, ff14 offers the most epic bossfights in any MMO. If you don't like doing high level raids, this game is NOT for you.
