Gives "Invincible" vibes.
VA top-notch and characters instantly likeable/interesting.
Hoping that the gameplay loop won't turn out to be too repetitive in the full game.

Cobalt Core has come out of nowhere for me and it has blown me away. It's so incredibly fun and addicting, even though I'm not usually one to play a lot of roguelikes. The deckbuilding, characters and evade mechanics are absolutely fantastic, making the game one of my highlights of this year.

I can NOT recommend Fort Solis. It's an abysmal gaming experience.

For (currently) 25€, you get 4-5 hours of super slow walking, barely any "actual" gameplay, quick-time events without consequence, an uninspired story that's not one bit unique and an ending that is so unsatisfactory that you feel like you've just wasted 5 hours of your life. 👎 In addition to all that, you get extremely, and I really really mean extremely dumb characters - such a thing rarely made me as angry as I was towards the end of the game.

And don't tell me that the walking speed and inability to - at the very least - jog, makes for a more immersive experience. After a certain event, walking at that speed is simply unrealistic and urgency is never a factor, even though it really should be at one point in the story.

Going off of the review score, I didn't expect much and yet I am utterly disappointed.

Something positive: The voice acting and graphics are superb.

Here we go again ... bad reviews because there's *one* thing that makes people so incredibly hurt. *One* thing, a battle pass that's purely cosmetic and which has been planned and communicated by the developers way back in 2020.

Well, these days, bad reviews very rarely mean that this is a bad game. Take this game for example: It's excellent, so much fun, and you can spend hours upon hours in this wonderfully crafted, well thought out world.

This is a creature collector game that takes inspiration, bits and pieces from existing games of the same genre, makes them better ; makes them their own. And that's the beauty of it. It's the same, but it's so vastly different.

The devs deserve all the praise and this game deserves to be loved and adored, not be hated because of a stupid battle pass (which you're not forced to buy at all, by the way).

The only game I'm fully invested in!
