was looking forward to pouring 400+ hours into this. This is nothing like battlefield, not just content wise but it has lost its solid gameplay feel from BF3/4, the whole game literally feels like an apex reskin. PORTAL seems a massive cop out to keep you distracted from the mess of this game but feels like drawing blood from a stone. No set classes like every other BF wtf are these operator cards? A cash grab at the cost of a battlefield defining gameplay feature. Shameful. No idea how EA haven't realised yet we just want a reskinned BF4 with updated graphics which would of been less work for them. They are becoming more and more stupid by the day. No campaign is going backwards big time. Really, really sad to think there will most likely never be another Battlefield like 2/BC/BC2/3/4 ever again.
This game is meant to sell, not play. They invested all of their efforts into things like pointless weather effects and completely unnecessary scale so they could use them as selling points instead of investing in gameplay. And because of that ridiculous scale, they decided to throw in as many vehicle as possible without thinking of balancing them, Again to use the spectacle as a selling point.

They swapped classes, a battlefield staple, for specialists because they would be easier to monetize. They got rid of so many great details and gameplay additions from old battlefields, so they could focus on making the game more sellable, not playable.

They practically got rid of all sense of community by getting rid of voip, scoreboards, clans, and all chat.

And not to mention how absolutely horrible the performance is. I am fortunate enough to have a pretty solid pc, i get constant stutters ranging from 50 to 90 fps on settings meant for performance. I cant imagine how they expect people who have been getting screwed over by scalpers from getting components to play this game.

The ONLY redeemable thing about this game is portal. It offers a great nostalgia trip and has a lot of potential. Unfortunately since people went straight to abusing it which i have no clue how dice didn't see that coming, its basically impossible to level up with right now.

I could honestly go on but i think the part that is the most disappointing thing about all of this is that this game was labeled as "a love letter to fans" before it was even revealed, yet here they are ignoring feedback on what fans want.

No all chat
No VOIP
No server browser
No medic nearby indicator
No squad switching
No team switching
No stats page
Lesser destruction
Poor optimization
Tons of bugs
Hitboxes are broken
A small number of guns
Lack of game modes
Cringe voice lines
Hazard zone is a joke
The spotting system is broken
Maps are way too big even for 128 players
Game UI is horrible
Poor audio design

Don't buy Battlefield 2042. This game requires another 1-2 years of development. As of right now, it' a broken and unfinished game.

Over hyped garbage buggy unfinished trash

We all remember playing this amazing game as a kid. I was so ready to play this game when I saw it on steam. The game is basically unplayable.... game stutters every time you move the mouse or click WASD. This is just another money grab that should not even be on steam. if you just keep moving your mouse the game will just freeze till you stop. I have tried everything and looked at multiple forums and they all have the same problem and no one can find a fix to it. Save your money after writing this review I will be refunding this hot trash of a game. If you want to call it a game its legit a picture because it freezes when you move the mouse..... also no solutions on youtube to fix it

Good Game! But get rid of the portals it ruins the journey when you can just teleport to another side of the map...
