Good concept, bad game.

A landmark game for the industry.

I love the idea.
I love how the guns sound and feel.
I love the sound design of the machines and how they walk around.

but

this game is dreadfully boring.

I suggest you buy it if its on sale and if you really want to give it a go.

Died at swamp got filtered.

UPDATED REVIEW : (11/27/2021)

Trouble Shooter is a game now in retrospective that I enjoyed a lot. I can't wait for the rest of the story and some of the problems that I addressed earlier have been fixed. When this updated review was posted the game is currently on sale and I think it is a great time to buy it.

I enjoyed the characters the most and I can't wait to see more from the developers.




This is a PS2 Anime XCOM.

I recommend this game if you want to play something like XCOM, if you are new to games like XCOM do not play this game yet. It's translation's and systems sometimes feel like a puzzle you have to figure out on your own. At times the game feels like a slog to get through and I would say that some missions just feel like padding. That being said I did have fun playing through it and if you are unsure about whether or not to get it I suggest waiting for a sale and just buying it then. The developers are very nice and responsive but the game to me feels like the humble beginning of a great franchise.
