Feasting on the insides of your enemies. How easily you ignore the loss of life when it suits your convenience. So tell me: who saves the weak from the man who saves the weak? Kill or be killed Jack. Phnom Penh taught me that. Yes, you aren’t the only one to grow up on the killing fields. War is a cruel parent but an effective teacher. It’s final lesson is carved deep in my psyche: that this world, and all it’s people are diseased. Free will is a myth. Religion is a joke. We are all pawns, controlled by something greater: memes. The DNA of the soul. They shape our will. They are the culture — they are everything we pass on. Expose someone to anger long enough, they will learn to hate. They become a carrier. Envy, greed, despair... All memes, all passed along. You can’t fight nature, Jack. Wind blows, rain falls, and the strong pray upon the weak. Sam tells me you see your weapon as a tool. Something that saves lives — a means of justice. Now there’s a pretty meme. Exquisite! It’s spared you the burden of all the lives you’ve taken... ...absolved you of guilt when you enjoyed it. That is until the illusion was broken. Don’t be ashamed. It’s only nature, running its course. You have no choices to make. Nothing to answer for. You can die with a clear conscience.

The sequel to the game that defined the 3D gameplay for Sonic the Hedgehog. Released for the 10th anniversary on the SEGA Dreamcast, it marked an end of an era. But it also marked a new beginning, being released on SEGA's biggest rival, Nintendo's home console, the Game Cube (later released on PC).

A flagship Dreamcast game that launched Sonic the Hedgehog into new heights as a character and as a franchise. Six playable characters, each with their own perspective (although some more important than others) on the main story that the game is telling to the player, character development, a fantastic 10/10 soundtrack that is yet to be surpassed, simple but fun gameplay, stages that are a direct heir to the Classic Era of Sonic but made for 3D environments, 3 hub worlds where you can roam freely, mission and boss mode, SEGA Game Gear games that you unlock after collecting a certain ammount of emblems, a pet simulator where you can spend weeks leveling up and raising your Chao... All of this sounds extraordinary, but does the remastered version of a game that came out in 1999, released for the Nintendo GameCube and PC in 2004 even hold up?
It's easy to spot various differences from the vanilla (Dreamcast) version and the DX (GameCube, PC) version, mostly graphical changes and newer character models (from Sonic Adventure 2). The majority of the Sonic community agrees that the better one is the original, although the hardware was less powerful and it only ran in 30 FPS. The experience you receive from playing the Steam version is somehow worse than the GameCube version, mostly because of texture and lighting errors. Thankfully, there is a simple solution which makes the Steam version (and in extension, the DX version) day and night compared to the true, intended way, by using, you guessed it, mods. (You can download them using the SADX Mod Manager, it's really simple to use).
Overall, Sonic Adventure DX a must-play for anyone new to the Sonic franchise. Although it has been reviewed and talked upon many, many times before - it started the 3D era of Sonic and it started it right, and will always be remembered as one of the franchise's peaks, story and gameplay wise. Absolute recommendation.

A poor,rushed port of a great game.
Really could've give us a mix of FES and Portable, and not just
a copy paste of a 15+ years old game with an AI upscaler.
My dissapointment is immesurable and my day is ruined.
