I actually might give this another shake and see if my opinion of this title has changed.

Needs F5 Quicksave / F9 Quickload

In all fairness it took about three years for this game to become polished enough to reccomend. The only reason I am not reccomending this game is because it was suppose to be a ten year live service but then this happened.

The developers Asobo released both 'MSFS' and FS2024 in broken and unplayable states.

Both games require you to have a super computer AND an extremely fast internet connection in order to play. BOTH are always online and cannot be played offline.

FS2024 was technically meant to 'fix' some of the technical limitations of FS2020 but to force people who bought FS2020 to pay full price for 2024 is down right criminal. Someone at the SEC and DOJ should investigate Microsoft/Asobo for fraud and misleading consumers!

This game will never be finished. The maps are way too small and crafting is a pain in the ass.

If they got rid of the Uplay requirement or Ubisoft went out of business than I could recommend this game.

It’s pretty but mods are required to unlock all of the content Ubisoft probably intended to lock behind a paywall pre quartz.

03/23/2023 Update

Don’t bother buying the DLC since Ubi will probably deactivate it on Steam. FYI, most of the dlc guns are available in arcade mode/ map editor and can be unlocked free of charge for singleplayer with the resistance mod.

Worst numbered game in the series thus far and it plays more like a tech demo for Unreal Engine 4. The DLC is overpriced and the dlc missions are boring and uninventive. Save your money and get Project Wingman instead. You will spend just as much time playing that game as you would have playing Skies Unknown.

Look forward to Ace Combat 8 being an Epic Game Store timed exclusive!

This game is only fun with friends!

The guns are pretty generic and so is the gunplay!

I haven’t managed to beat this game in twenty years! First time I got close in 2004 my game stroked out during the resistance phase late in the game. I blame my GPU for that.

Second time I played in 2008 the water hazard section was broken and a section of the map was missing.

Just played the “20th anniversary” version of the mod and the game kept crashing on route kanal and water hazards.

Closest I’ve ever gotten to beating this game was in gmod with better gun mods but the final level always crashed for me.

The gunplay aside from the gravity gun is a major step back from the original Half Life.

If you can get it to run and play through to completion you have my adulations.
