Monster Train is the Monster Truck of deckbuilders.

The goal is to smash through your enemies as overwhelmingly as possible.

In Monster Train, your deck, if constructed with a particular build in mind, can become OP within the first few events of the game, or be completely ruined with the wrong card choices. The synergy of the cards are not always apparent as well, so there is always a thrill of discovery which makes this very addictive.
If you do not ramp up the effectiveness of your cards as quickly as possible, you are soon overwhelmed.

This is the beauty of the game, the rewards are immediate, satisfying and the gameplay is as quick as any deckbuilder I have played.

However, the enemies are quite simplistic, essentially damage and health with occasional debuff capacity, but nowhere near the extent of other deckbuilding roguelites and each new round follows the same pattern as you find your strategy to success.

Ultimately, this is a good fun fast paced game for those who don't mind strategy to be on the lighter side
If this comes up on sale, definitely add it to your collection

Battle Brothers is brutal.
You will die, all of your Brothers will die. Welcome to being a mercenary in the middle ages.

The brutality means every action is agonised over, every swing and every shot considered, and considered again. This is the beauty of the game and why it is so addictive. Every battle feels as rewarding as the last because the consequences of misplays is always the same.

Sprinkle in some excellent writing and a detailed world and you have one of the most immersive Roguelikes and overall best sleeper hits on Steam.

This game is a fantastic progression in the point and click genre; Whispers of a Machine still feels like a classic point and click at heart but expands upon that with new and intriguing mechanics.

From a story perspective, the plot is a nice murder/conspiracy investigation romp with moral choices which do seem to alter the trajectory of the story. It might be slightly short but the time spent within this world is immersive and well fleshed out.

I absolutely recommend this game for fans of the genre and sits comfortably within my top 3 point and clicks of all time.

The game has significantly regressed since 2k18, AI defense is non-existent and the game is riddled with milestone barriers which require extensive grinding or pay to win microtransactions.

On top of that, 2k is a company going to way of EA in terms of business practice and ethics. The fact that this game has passed ESRB gambling bans despite being filled with roulette wheels, slot machines and card packs/loot boxes seems puzzling until you realise that the chair of the ESRB and the president of 2k is the same person.

Buy 2k18 and get a roster update, you'll have a better time.

The Turing Test will initially feel like a portal-lite but quickly comes into a league of its own as the narrative and philosophical debate within emerges.

Very few games have impressed me with the depth and introspection that this one has. The philosophy is delivered in bite size pieces of audio at the start of each puzzle and swiftly becomes the motivation and reward for completing each puzzle.

The puzzles are not hard, they are quick and relatively straight forward but this works well as you ponder each new piece of information and still stay engaged to progress from level to level.

I finished this in one evening and it was an absolute delight. 7/10

A gameplay experience you will not find anywhere else. This game exudes charm and good vibes and you cannot help but get lost in the adventure.

Pros:
Amazing atmosphere
Unique combination of genres which you will not find in any other game
Tons of side quests and challenges to progress within the world
Beautiful and varied metroidvania map
Wholesome storyline which manages to even throw a twist into it's climax

Singular Con:
The gameplay can be challenging and frustrating at times but moments like these are rare and become rarer as your skill improves.

This game is excellent and guaranteed to give you an experience you will not find anywhere else. 8/10

This game is a must play for any fan of point and clicks, dystopian sci fi or just general lovers of exceptional story telling.
I play a lot of point and clicks, usually finishing a game after a month or so of sporadic game play.

I finished this game in one sitting.

The puzzles aren't difficult, and allow the stellar story to progress unhindered for the most part which is a pro in my eyes.
The biggest pro however, is the branching story line towards the climax. I won't spoil but there are multiple endings and you become so invested in the story that each ending carries immense gravitas.

This is a masterpiece of gaming, Hall of Fame tier. 10/10

Sometimes a game comes along which leaves your speechless in it's brilliance. Pony Island, a 2D side scroller about a pony jumping over fences is as brilliant a game that I have ever experienced.

You enter the game confident in your fence jumping abilities and believe you are ready for any twists Pony Island throws at you. You are not ready.

This game stands alone in it's genre, it stands alone in it's quality and execution. This is a true masterpiece and a must play for absolutely everyone. 10/10 - gaming hall of fame

A truly hilarious throw-back to the golden era of Point and Click, you join Paradigm on his quest to make the phattest beatsies and save the world along the way.

The puzzles are not hard which may be a negative for some but it does allow for the story and humour to shine without being held back.

8/10 - a gem of a game

10/10 One of the best games in recent memory.

This is a game that will absolutely sweep you away into it's world and immerse you in an environment of rich colour and vibrancy. Yes this is a platformer, but you never feel like you are on a staged level. You really feel that you are traversing a forest and never simply completing a staged level.

The soundtrack is amazing, the controls are so tight they become second nature and the artwork is breathtaking.
For a world built on next to no dialogue, each character feels like a living complex creature of the forest and each region of the forest is uniquely beautiful and presents very different challenges.

The saving mechanic is superb, allowing you to save whenever you like, as long as you have enough energy orbs to do so. Although some areas, such as final confrontations with bosses or challenging platform sequences don't allow you to save, which cranks the tempo and intensity up to 11 and leads to such magnificent catharcism upon completion that you fall in love with game all over again.

One of only a handful of games i was truly sorry to finish, I cannot recommend this any higher. You have to experience this masterpiece yourself.
