So... Ubi made me install CS2 back. I think it`s pretty marks the conclusion about the current state of the game. I don't want to say that game is dying, or "it used to be good, but now it's bad." Nuh-uh, I just want to point out for everyone to see some things, that are really confusing at the moment. (at least for me)
Well... what do I start with...
Resent BB rework - Cringe. I genuinely don`t understand peoples problems with old BB. Like, for me it`s literally a second chance operator, that saves you from an instant headshot and lets you re-think your tactic at the moment, or re-pick the guy that broke the 1st shield. But now it`s just another filthy shield operator, that feels sooo uncomfortable to play with, and against.
Recruit rework - meh... mega mid. The whole season with that rework was quite empty. And the rework doesn't feel like it can replace having a new operator or something else.
New events - ... bruh, is somebody even playing this? Like, literally, I don`t remember a really good event being in a game for reeeeally long time. All of the events now, are just old events that are being re-run every year, with minimal changes. If they`re doing so, then as an old player I'd also like to see the Grand Larency, Showdown, Outbr... oh yeah... Extraction... well... at least you had an idea, Ubi...
New operators - Everyone is goated, except Skopos(mega cringe), and Fenrir(dude is just another Clash that being banned in the ranked every single time. Imho, such a concept of an operator was doomed to problems from the very beginning.) But honestly... Looking around at the latest operators and their abilities, there is a strong desire for something simpler. Recently, there is only a super-duper-mega-cool gadgets, that can release gas, track you wherever you go, create insta walls, treat Percocet addiction, etc. This is really starting to get annoying. That’s why, when RAM came out, it was literally like a breath of fresh air for me, because her gadget doesn’t do anything supernatural. And the very fact of having this in the game, looks very appropriate.
New weapons - Where?...(let`s pretend that Skopos doesn`t exist) I kinda like the changes to OG weapons, as well as the return of ACOG for defense (need more) All weapons feel good and most of them are balanced. (pls Nerf Goyo`s\Kaid`s TCSG 12 its too OP)
New maps - Nighthaven Labs is wonderful, but Lair sometimes feels like an unpredictable labyrinth(imho). I really want old maps to be reworked and returned, instead something like Lair.
Now, let's get to the most tasty part...
MMRked 2.0 - Unplayable! Expecially in solo queue.
In fact, there is no balance as such now, because on paper the system may look good, but in reality now Ranked 2.0 is just a hodgepodge of players of different ranks in one match. On more than one occasion, I have encountered people with champion and diamond charms, playing tohether with people who have never been above gold in their lives, or people who have literally 150 hours in the game. If you try to explain how it works, this entire review will turn into an analysis of only Ranked 2.0. Based on someone's observations and attempts to understand what the game, and the developers themselves have not clearly explained to this day. If you try to briefly retell how Ranked 2.0 works right now, then: last seasons Diamonds and Platinums, desperately fighting eachother, to keep their Silver 3 rank. And why all this? Because everyone started the new season with copper anyway lol.

However, despite everything I said - I LOVE this game, and gave it all of my free time since 2017 to this moment. I also want to thank Jynxzi, for literally partially reviving the game and reigniting the community's interest in it, and producing new memes. (I know he won't read this, but people in churches don't talk face to face with God either, so the main thing is the fact of statement.) (No, I'm not comparing Jynxzi to God, I just couldn't think of a better analogy lol.)
Nobody knows about the future of the Ubi. Maybe it`ll be named as 育碧 in the nearest future, and operators will perform a Shang Abi dance as the MVP animation.(please don`t)(okay, Shang Abi dance might be funny, now I kinda want to see it.) Or, if Assassins Creed Shadows fails, Ubisoft will go completely bankrupt and cease to exist and will remain in our memory as one of the best game developers. (I hope the option of selling to the Chinese company, or going bankrupt, will just remain my joke with a nervous grin.) I hope everything will work out for Ubisoft and they will bring themselves and their games to their former majestic state and we will see other even cooler releases and updates.
Probably, That`s it. Here's my review-ish yapping session is over.
Yeah yeah, Good argument "This dude is cringe" thinkers. However: I am inside your walls.
