I based a build around shotguns, turning one into an LMG and the other into a sniper rifle. No other game lets me do that ;P

Early Access Review
The lights turned off while I was trying to use the spirit box, and I said to the ghost: "THIS IS VERY SCARY, PLEASE TURN THE LIGHTS BACK ON" and what do you know, he actually did it. I thanked him and yeeted myself out of the house. 10/10

I saw Vinny from Vinesauce play this, and my immediate reaction was "Oh, it's like Hotline Miami for weebs...".
When I saw that the story can cange depending on what you do, I immediately needed to play the game myself!

Gameplay is like Hotline Miami, but TWICE as stressful and THRICE AS SATISFYING TO PULL OF CRAZY COMBOS WHERE I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT IM DOING, IM JUST SWINGING MY SWORD AND IM REFLECTING ALL THE BULLETS OH JEEZ!

Story is intriguing, and pulls you in from the get-go, with some INSANE twists...

Bad things: The game seems to slow down randomly at times. Pretty frustrating to go through a heap of dialogue you've already heard before, when your "skip" button don't register.

Wowie, they sure listened to what we had to say about the death wish system being mandatory... so here we go, writing the review again (but keeping the old one down below)

Death Wish (when voluntary, hur hur) is actually a nice addition making you work hard for small cosmetics that you COULD live without. Has an easy mode, which I think could be balanced better (or even be replaced by a "level skip"). It's tough, its frustrating, but with repeating mistakes, you learn new tricks...

The Arctic Cruise is a wonderful addition to the story, adding a large free-roam level, which you slowly end up memorising (WHICH GREATLY HELPS IN ACT 2). Act 3 is a little lackluster and awkward, gameplay-wise... but feels great to do, so HECK, it's alright in my book. Could do with a secondary blue rift, and one more act.

All around, with the new patch, the DLC is now a 9/10 for me.
------------------------------------------------

(This part of the rewiew is from before the patch. Thanks for listening, devs!)

It's fantastic until you realize that you HAVE TO DO THE DEATH WISH LEVELS TO PROGRESS... and they are way too hard. There's no difficulty curve it just goes from fun-hard to the type of stuff the sadistic Mario Maker community makes.

Death wish ruins the experience completely, and I doubt I will even attempt to play again, until this obvious issue is fixed.

Edit: I did manage to beat the level, but i still think it's cruel to force peeps to do em. Finished the normal missions, and they were great, but too short.

-REPOSTED FROM MY REFUND REQUEST-

It crashes ONLY when completing missions, either for me or for others... something I thought they would have the brains to fix in the beta. Other than that, the gameplay is sloppy, hard work is rewarded the same as going bare minimum... The game pretty much becomes a chore, and for the price it has, even with the "loyalty discount" for those who own payday, this is still a kick in the nuts. Graphics-wise they went with realism, but honestly, it does not work that well with the engine they use. Game looks worse than Red Dead Redemption 1, a game that came out SEVEN YEARS AGO.

TLDR: The game looks and feels like an aged prototype compared to the game its based the gameplay on.

This game is addictive as all heck...
If you know nothing about how castles are built, you're gonna have a hard time (I failed with my first city, then got help from a friend on how i should build things)

Only real bad thing for me has been how the framerate dropped significantly after i had 500 villagers...
and ogres... f*** those guys o3o

This game is fun at first, you can solve the puzzle just how you like to.
However, after the castle, the game puts you on a straight path, which only gives you one other way to go (and that is when you're halfway through the level already). The boats of the water level were absolute crap to use, I ended up using about 15 minuttes to get a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boat INTO THE OCEAN... and then they expect you to ditch it, for another.

The factory is a single path, allowing no fun, nor creativity. The first half is "PUT WIRES INTO SPECIFIC SOCKETS", but after that part was over, that was it, no more wires. Instead you get driving with horrible controls... "Psh how bad can it be?" you might ask. Well imagine playing surgeon simulator... with a car... with the possibility of faling out of the world and having to start over.

Overall the part of the game that was in the beta was great, but the full game COULD have been a masterpiece if the last two levels were not so boring, and rage iducing.

EDIT: I had another go at the game. I got the boat in easily this time. there could have been a clue there though. Like an abandoned, broken ship which has the log infront of it.

On the Power level, I managed to climb out of the first room, then grab onto a wire (which was stupid and I loved it!) and I simply took the statue's box. This made the level fun for me. still dont like the driving though.

After all this, I say: Try it if wierd controls don't bother you. Its a unique experience with ballsy controls (like surgeon simulator).

Jesus Christ, this game is awesome. It can either be the most goofy experience or the most serious experience, depending on how you play.

This is one of those few times, I'd acually pay MORE for the game than I did!
Plus, you can screw around as much as you like, and complete levels in diffrent ways

Well, the framerate is way better in this than in SR4, but maybe thats just me.
Other than that, yeah... buy it! I CANT TELL YOU HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS GAME, AND IF YOU LOVE JOHNNY, THEN YOU WILL TOO.

Also: at first i thought the flying would be like SR4, but no... THE CONTROLS ARE AWESOME, AND I CANT STOP FLYING AROUND THE PLACE CAUSE ITS SO FUN. :D
