This game takes on the appearance of a 2003 game, but that is very much a design choice made out of love, not to cut corners. The levels are low-poly, but very detailed, well-designed, fun to traverse. The movement tech is smooth and is easy to pick up with a high skill ceiling. I really liked collecting all the achievements for getting super high combos in every level, because you really have to know the level and plan a good path. That's when you realize that every little combo you found before can be linked together if you just play it right.

There's lots of small quality of life things too, that I didn't even think about until I tried to play Jet Set Radio for a bit. The ability to switch characters at any dance spot. The freedom to place your favorite graffiti anywhere. The convenient controls for the phone, making it possible to switch music during a combo.

That's already plenty reason to love this game and I didn't even mention the soundtrack yet.

Early Access Review
Totally awesome game, but the devs might actually decide to wreck it. I hope they're smarter than that.
