It's basically if geometry wars was a rougelite. I'll do a fuller review when I've explored it more.

In short, well worth the money if you like twin stick shooters and rougelikes.

Early Access Review
This game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome.

Interesting mix of a few genres, I've had sooo much fun with this.

Easy to get into and also high skill cap. It's got a good balance of accessibility and complexity.

Their monetisation is good too. Like, if you want to spend loads of money on your favourite character cos you wanna look sharp af, then you can, but it doesn't effect the gameplay at all, and there's absolutely no pay to win.

Also, the devs are awesome, chatted with a couple of them on their discord server. On that note the discord is the absolute best I've ever come across, it's super easy to find people to play with.

Highly recommended!

Well, I'm having a blast with it. (A little over 9 hours in)

I don't really understand the people saying it's like a poor version on Isaac. Imo, it's not trying to be anything like Binding of Isaac.

Also, people saying they don't like running after gold, that actually turns into a really cool mechanic. (Small spoiler here:) Once you get Geckos Foot (One of the very early permanent upgrades you can buy) You can throw your axe to pick up gold (Given, that's not actually explained, but again I kinda like the discovery aspect of it. Like, hmm, what does this new item do) Anyway once you figure that out, it's really fun. When you mine for gold little weevle things come out of the walls and try to steal it before you can pick it up, if you've killed all the enemies first then that's easy, but sometimes in the chaos of the room fight the gold might get sprayed everywhere and you've got to make a quick decision as to continue the fight and lose the gold or take a chance dashing for the gold but possibly taking damage instead. Equally, if you're nearly dead, you might just want to rush to pick up as much gold as possible before everything gets you, or play it safe in the hopes there's health in the next room. It's definitely an intended thing that adds risk/reward to the game, not just some lazy oversight.

Also, I love all the little secret puzzles n stuff. I personally love the way the game slowly drip feeds new stuff and makes you discover the next bit. Some people might find it obtuse. Though, I would definitely say (Again, minor spoiler:) you should absolutely buy the bomb upgrade as soon as you beat the first boss.

It is pretty unforgiving, and the air controls when jumping are donkey ♥♥♥♥.

I don't know, it might become repetitive, but I doubt it. Will update this review after another 10-20 hours in anycase.

If you know how to use a controller without thinking/looking. And you also like psychedelics. Buy this.

It'll take you on whole trip. There should really be whole genre for this type of gaming experience. I can't conjurer up the name right now, maybe someone else can help with that. It's like entering portal, almost like a tripsitter.

This game is like the Venturi effect for harmonisation.

Such an underrated single player shooter experience. I have no idea how this one went under the radar.

It's got an absolutely great narrative. The "duel" mechanic is really fun and unique. Super solid shooter, with some really nice low-key tactical elements. I'm currently playing it as a semi casual thing. I'm personally playing with a kinda slow, thoughtful gameplay style (Gone with the skill tree to enhance sniping), not like COD or whatever, although, you can play it as a twitch shooter if you want to, there is a skill tree for that if that's your style.

Absolutely worth the price. Especially now, while its on offer. (I'm actually also kinda surprised this hasn't got a speedrunning scene atm) Good levelling up system. I guess it could be a bit more fleshed out, but it's still really good. Fair amount of replay-ability, since there's a the hardcore mode which looks really interesting (Haven't unlocked that, but I've got the feeling it'll be far more fun once I've honed my skills. Definitely gonna give it at least another playthough), and also an arcade and solely duel mode, which I have tried and are fun in themselves.

Buy this game you won't be disappointed.

My only downside to it would be that I'm gonna be feeling empty when I finish it. (I'm about half way though) I would love some DLC or a sequel. It's really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good.

Also works fantastically on the Steam Deck. (Put gyro on your left trigger for iron sights, I can expand on the finer settings if you want, took me a while to fine tune it.)

Edit: I dunno who the director of this game is, I haven't researched. But they're amazing! It's some of the best, most succinct and deft delivery of narrative (Especially the Voice and Cinematography/Cutscenes) I've ever seen in an fps, and I've seen a lot of em. Beats almost all "triple A" titles I've come across, in that regard.

A superb little RTS. Other people are calling this simplified, I would call it succinct. Most of the levels play out like quick paced puzzlers. Also, others mentioned in their reviews that it must be made for mobile, since you only use mouse (there is controller support but I havn't tried that) and you can see elements of that, but it's not particularly detrimental. Though I would have liked a better system to split groups if Im playing on PC, other than what is very obviously made for drag and drop with a touch screen. Personally I really like a casual game that I can play one handed, (not like that, you dirty mfer) Means I can smoke or drink or whatever with the other hand.

All in all, very fun, especially for the price. And if you see this when it's also on sale, then I'd say it's a definite pick up.

Because a small minority of people are not able to deal with gritty scenarios, the dev team has removed sections of the story line where you shoot your self in the head and also a part where you jump off a building. I think It's weak af for them to remove something that the majority of people found a fun story element, (it used to be a toggle option, that was fine.)

It's utterly ridiculous to remove elements of an original design in order to placate overly sensitive people.

Great game. Looks simple but has tons of depth. One of the best bang-for-your-buck games out there. The fantastic support and free updates have made this a huge rabbit hole to delve into. It's a good single player experience if that's your thing but it really shines in multiplayer. It still has a large user base and it's pretty easy to find a welcoming server. It's also not too resource hungry so you can host a server yourself pretty easily, if you just want to play with friends..

I don't usually write reviews but this game is definitely better than it's score.

It's a good game. It's slow to update and there's a few bugs. The bugs in my experience are fairly minor. Like ok, maybe your damage wasn't calulated exactly right but you still killed the boss.

There's hours and hours of good replayablity in this. Notice that most of the negative reviews have 100's of hours in the game. I'm of the opinion, they're mostly fanboys giving bad reviews to their beloved game, as some sort of punishment to the devs for not keeping to their release timetable. Fatshark will update it, and have been, they're a small team and they take ages. Had the same fanboys ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about Vermintide 1, that got updated.

It's great fun and perfectly playable. It's just not perfect.

Edit: Oct 2019, (With an extra 400 hours in the game) As predicted, loads of updates. Loads of stuff fixed and sorted, Better item upgrading, hitboxes, UI, cosmetics and all of that ♥♥♥♥, Add into that, there's NO PTW LOOTBOXS' OR MICROTRANSACTIONS!!!

There's no other game I know of that has such good FPS Melee. Chivalry is close but still not there. Maybe Chivalriy 2 will beat them? But add in the 4 person co-op and this has it hands down.

TLDR: Buy it if you like playing co-op FPS's with friends. Best game out there for that.
Left 4 Dead on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of steroids.
