I approached this game with low expectations, and honestly it met them in some areas, surpassed them in others. Bethesda took the skeleton that is Fallout, removed the V.A.T.S and replaced it with a very easy to use ship flight system. Although there is not entire planets to explore, nor the ability to fly in atmosphere it still is an enjoyable experience. At the time of writing I am roughly 21 hours into the game and have barely touched upon the story. I expect several dozen more hours before I see any semblance of an end game. The leveling system is what you expect from Bethesda, trading in the Vault boy Perk system with a more sci-fi themed one, weapons can be modified similar to your typical Bethesda game albeit the research system adds a bit more depth to it all. Overall I give it a solid 7/10 mechanically as for performance, my outdated CPU skewed my experience here, I run a 2060 Super and a i7-4790 and I got a stable 40-50 frames on low. Enough for me to enjoy my experience. If you are a fan of Fallout but want a refreshing twist, I recommend this game. If you are new to Bethesda games, I recommend this game. If you were expecting something 100% Brand new from this game... I'm sorry but this is does not deliver that.

TL/DR: Starfield is genetically a Fallout game that's been genetically spliced with Sci-fi elements and it feels fun to play. Nothing "new" per say, but a fun time nonetheless.

This game is the underdog of the century. At first it lacked everything it promised. However in the past two years they've given us what we've been asking for and more. I have over 200 hours on PS4 and I decided to buy it on PC during the Atlas Rises update. Now with NEXT, not only will we be getting weekly updates but the new changes to the base building and multiplayer, this is actually fun. If you dont mind the physics being a little lacking when compared to Elite Dangerous or the cartoonish colors of some of the NPC's I recommend this game whole-heartedly.
