I started playing Terraria when frost moons weren't a thing yet and I thought at the time "wow there's so much stuff" on my mum's old iPad 2, then I switched to PC and there were so many more items to be crafted and used, especially after the big 1.3 lunar update. After I defeated the moon lord in expert a bunch of times and messed around in the builder's workshop I slowly lost interest, so I decided to dabble in some Minecraft cos why not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Anyway, a few dead enderdragons later I realised how empty it feels once I've completed the game and how Terraria feels much more replayable in my opinion since you literally get a space dolphin machine gun from a moon lord which shoots crazy fast and seeing the numbers in the dps counter combined with the metallic hit sounds on that poor destroyer and its health rapid depleting just feels more satisfying. The level of customisation within the actual character is what makes playing Terraria a unique experience, after hours of grinding/farming/killing/building you finally get that endgame armour with all accessories reforged for highest defence or damage (or movement speed/crit chance), that little spinny skull thingy, the eye of the boss you just killed, a minecart with lights, etc.

This review isn't meant to be a Terraria vs Minecraft type of argument, I just used Minecraft as a comparison because it is indeed a similar game, one is better than the other?, no, I didn't say that. Although Minecraft has its own type of gameplay, I feel that Terraria is a lot more focused on an objective because it is not nearly as creative-able as Minecraft (because the world is literally infinite) and people who've played Terraria first will probably agree with me on this. There's like over 15 bosses in total and even more mini bosses, some of which spawn naturally so be prepared, you need NPCs to progress so you learn how to build a metropolis, you need to go to places to get certain things to make things to progess, not just a bunch of metallic ores , and so much more.

If you haven't played Terraria yet, I highly recommend you do that asap with a group of friends who've ideally all never played it before as well so that everyone can discover how to play and the mechanics of each item.

10/10 would trust companion cube again
