Tabletop Simulator excellently allows you to digitally recreate most any game you'd play sitting around a physical table. It has a very powerful set of tools to allow you to recreate card games, board games, tabletop roleplaying, or even simple activities like lego or minigolf. The controls can take a little getting used to, but I think it is the cost of the highly customizeable experience. There's a very wide range of existing creations in the workshop that allow you to play most any game you can think of, some are even more streamlined than their physical counterparts. It is definitely my go-to platform for a game night when I'm unable to be with friends in person.

I previously gave this a negative review, primarily because of the coin mechanic that made sense for the game on mobile but not on PC. The developer however not only responded, but deployed a fix really quickly (within 24 hours) which removed that mechanic from the game. While I have a few very minor complaints about the resulting game (application crashes on close, aggressive screen flashing until mistakes are fixed, and a slightly odd sound effect for completing lines), they are ultimately minor. The puzzles really are solid here, exactly what you'd imagine from the store page, and are fun to play, and it is great to see the dev so actively fixing issues.

On the short side, but provides a relaxing puzzle experience as advertised. Almost all the puzzles are very straightforward, but the last few provide a moderate challenge.

While Linelith takes around an hour to complete, it is a little world absolutely packed with rewarding puzzles. It is a joy to play and is well worth the price for such a memorable and polished experience.

No. 9 is a calming puzzle game that has you recreate abstract shapes and patterns. The levels are generally easy, and due to the small number of possibilities some felt like I solved them accidentally. It isn't particularly long, but it is also inexpensive.

Raft is a satisfying survival game set atop a small raft, drifting through endless ocean. The core gameplay loops of retrieving items from the water, building up your raft, and drifting to islands is satisfying, and there is a good progression of crafted items and visitable locations throughout the game. I was pleasantly surprised on several occasions by the obvious effort that went into many of the locations. The game worked seamlessly for multiplayer, and seems well balanced both for solo and co-op play. Several of the achievements are pretty grindy, which inflates my playtime from the 40-50 hours it took to complete 2 playthroughs. Overall I had a lot of fun building up my raft, surviving, and exploring the locations the game had to offer.

Later Alligator is a minigame-based comedy with very charming graphics. There's a large volume of humorous dialog with each character often having multiple conversations that keeps the humor fresh, even on subsequent playthroughs. The atmosphere of the game is lighthearted throughout, and I stopped on several occasions to take screenshots of dialog to share. The large cast of alligators is very goofy and it is clear a lot of heart was poured into drawing and animating all of them.

As the game takes place over the course of a single "day" it quickly becomes clear that not everything in the game can be completed in one playthrough, but the game is designed with that in mind and all relevant collectibles and progress carry over between playthroughs. Most of the achievements are related to playing specific minigames in certain ways, most of which are straightforward once you look up what they want, with one or two taking quite a few attempts. It took me ~4.5 hours to complete the game, and an additional 2 hours to go around collecting the remaining achievements, a length which I think is pretty much perfect for a game like this - long enough to be a lot of fun without running so long as to cause the humor or charm to get old. Lots of fun, and I'm really glad I finally picked this one up.

A minimalist package containing 3 small games, wrapped in the presentation of an art exhibition. Two of the games are 2D puzzles, while the third is akin to maze traversal. The games introduce simple mechanics with good pacing to keep things fresh but not overwhelming, and most gameplay elements are introduced simply by playing through the levels, without a need for text explanations or tutorials. A few of the final puzzles of one minigame were challenging, but the rest of the content was approachable and relaxing. The absence of text tutorials frees up the text to tell abstract stories throughout the levels of each respective game. The visual style and sound design are executed upon really well, and with a fairly short runtime of ~3 hours it remains novel throughout. Overall, a fun and relaxing adventure through the presented art gallery, through the lens of small puzzles.

Pikuniku is a wacky platformer set to a whimsical soundtrack. There's a lot of humor throughout, and the pacing and presentation of jokes and gimmicks was well paced and it didn't feel like things overstayed their welcome. In addition to the main 6-7 hour story, there's a few local coop level which, while I didn't finish all of them, were fun and well designed. Overall a fun game with good presentation.

I purchased this game because it seemed fun, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how high quality it was. There's a surprisingly amount of humor that actually made me laugh, and the game's open world was far more fleshed out than I expected. It looks like a lot of people jokingly compare the game to GTA, but the completeness of the world does beg the comparison (however with all mature themes removed). There's probably 15 hours of story levels, in a style that will be fairly familiar to anyone that's played other Lego titles such as Lego Star Wars. They slowly unlock abilities that are used in collectathon-esque challenges in the open world. The one thing I would note is that I'd highly recommend playing with a controller as I found the keyboard controls to be confusing when I started out. Having put 50 hours in the game to achieve 100% completion it was definitely well worth $20, and can likely be found for far less during sales.
