Hollow Knight has been quite the journey already. With super basic controls from the beginning and slowly enabling you to do more stuff, The roadblocks are definitely creative and the interesting characters that seem to find their way back to you somewhere upstairs or along the road are enjoyable.

Enemies, while not being simple creepers, have great timed attacks that are quick enough not to become a boring object along another dive into the ground for another small grind (especially the bigger creeps!). The grind aspect is super minimal for the first hours and hopefully will be for the next few. The bosses are interesting and are a nice challenge with reflexes and a small learning curve.

Dying isn't the worst as long as you don't die again before you can grab your epic stash of coins f from your ghost because that would make it dissapear (maybe this changes.. I did read a bit you see). Also, while progressing you will bump into new ways of fast traveling.

I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for.. a new game, yup. Oh, and is at least okay with a bit of metroidvania, arty maps and a slowly expanding camp of cool creatures. Team Cherry showed us they know how to make a metroidvania with a base location without using lazy elements such as instant travel, instant maps and handholding during your adventure.

Be sure to hit the benches on the path you crazy cool warrior!

A puzzle game with strong elements from the minimal perspective. The music is very calm/soothing. If you have a small talent for solving puzzles with a huge focus on 'calculating' steps like chess/ rush hour etc. then this game can be completed under 60min. I recommend everyone who is actually going to play this to not just skip the art ingame. Every solution shows a new screen and those screens together create the storyline.

Conclusion: the puzzle element, music and art really do well together. Time to complete: I guess around 1.5 to 3 hours on a casual level. A buck well spent!
