This game is peak.

Before you buy though, if you like Elden Ring there is no guarantee you will like this game. There's a lot of reoccurring content of course (enemies, weapons, spells, talismans) but the pacing and how you approach the content is way different from elden ring.

That said, if you enjoy both Risk of Rain and Elden Ring this will be your new favorite game. Even more so if you have a group of 2 other friends to play with. I'm already happy with my time and money spent, and I'm still looking forwards to playing more of it.

This is my favorite PVP game

I've seen a lot of reviews so far claiming the bosses have no openings and just aren't fun to fight. Personally, I've found the bosses to be incredibly engaging and fun to learn so far. Lots of difficult attack patterns to learn, but they're incredibly rewarding to find punish openings and ways to out space or strafe attacks in order to get damage in. I'm by no means a god gamer, but I find the boss design overall to be just as fun, if not more fun, than base elden ring.

If you love the base game and love a challenge, you'll love this.

Performance is a bit iffy sometimes though. Hoping for a patch that addresses that soon

I was expecting a lot of things from this game, getting emotionally invested in the story was not one of them.

Learning that the solo dev who created this game is also the single person behind both the Crab Rave song and music video was actually a life changing moment.

Let's get one thing out of the way; this game isn't finished. If you're on the fence about it, wait until more features have been added (like a tutorial, bot games, profile rewards, etc.)

However, if you are an OG Paragon fan, this game feels by far the closest to the original Paragon's Monolith gameplay prior to v42 and the card system reworks. The pacing is very similar and the game is very cleanly designed. I've been having a lot of fun with it

Would I have used Hinkik - Realms for the song in the trailer? No.
But honest to God just get this game.

This is the game I use to impress people with VR if it's their first time in the helmet. It feels fluid, immersive, and satisfying. The first time I stumbled across one of the real bosses (I hadn't seen it prior, there was no trailer for it at the time) the feeling of awe I got I hadn't received since I first fought the Eye of Cthulhu in Terraria back in 2011 when I was only 11.

Sure there's 2 occasions where I somehow went through a wall but other than that I haven't had any bugs or issues. The game isn't the longest game in the world, but if you're looking for an open VR experience, this is the best one out there I've found so far. The learning curve is a bit tricky at first, but it's absolutely worth the pay off.

Honest rating: 10/10. Don't even bother waiting for a Sale, it's worth the full price.
