Early Access Review
There is something therapeutic about endurance racing. For me, its racing in the early morning and watching the sun rise to the sounds of electrical motors recharging, V6 + V8 engines roaring while flashing lights at the lower classes.

Yes, the game crashes occasionally (but only in menus for me).
Yes, the framerate with AI is really low (online works fine).
Yes, the loading screens are slow. I can handle this. But why do I have to go to 'Advanced Setup -> Powertrain' to lower the fuel load for qualifying, while aero tape is a quick option?

But once I set the time to 5:00am and spend an hour racing the 499P around Le Mans until sunrise, I forget about all the weird bugs. This is a good game.

Overall I've thoroughly enjoyed EA WRC, the sounds are incredibly accurate and the handling is great (particularly on gravel / snow). I also really like the in car dash view.

But the stages are lacking a bit of life, some of them still crash (one in Monte Carlo and Estonia). I would also like to see the brown tinted graphics improved and exposure reduced. Lastly I think the reflections on cars can be improved.

This is one of the best DLCs for ACC. In every race, the chat is full of compliments for this DLC.

These GT2 cars are often QUICKER than the GT3 cars, so they'll stay relevant long into the future for Mixed class racing. The grid is also highly varied with some cars having faster top speed but others being better in the braking.

The Red Bull Ring is also brilliant, the racing is epic especially paired with the GT2s. Lots of passing and side-by-side racing opportunities.

I like the concept of this game. I really wanted to try my hand at some realistic strategy in F1 after Ferrari's real world failings.

The graphics are great, the tracks are realistic, the car models are mostly accurate, and the real sounds of engineers and engines is awesome.

However, the game is too easy. The other teams are not developing their car as strongly as my own, so I always start and finish 1&2 as Ferrari. The other teams also screw up the strategy by pitting into traffic. This makes the game incredibly boring when it is too easy to get into the lead and stay there.

Other issues include the lack of refinement in AI racing. They always take identical racing lines, and when they are wheel to wheel, they always make identical overtakes lap-after-lap.

I would also like an international Feed camera mode. When there is no strategy calls to be made, I would like to watch the rest of the race for other teams to keep myself entertained. Otherwise, I have to fast forward until I need to make adjustments.

While I do recommend this game, I believe it should only be purchased at a discount, or wait for the developers to address the issues I have.

For example, the developers did fix the significant blue flag and tyre degradation issues that ruined the game early on.

Brilliant simulator. It is really rewarding to develop your speed in this game, and the online racing is good fun.

I do find that you have to use a car that works for you, and stick with it. For me, this was the V8 Vantage and now the M4 GT3. While it is a bit of a nuisance, it does highlight the realism of the handling each car has, and how you cannot just directly transfer your driving between them. You need to learn the differences.

This is a GT World simulator, so there is no ability to use modded cars or drive on modded tracks, which is a shame in some regard. I would like to try out a Nordschleife race in the wet, but I suppose that becomes a job for Assetto Corsa 2.

As a long time owner of Euro Truck Simulator 2, purchasing this game takes me back to the old days of ETS2. The purple-ish graphics and simple textures are quite nostalgic.
Obviously, by modern standards this game is showing it's age. However, it still functions as it should and without problems.
The gameplay is quite enjoyable. It is obviously not the free-roam and business running side that ETS2 is, but that is what gives this game its own niche. I get excited when I pass the challenges quickly.
I think old ETS2 players will enjoy this game. I suggest buying it on special, because it obviously has a shorter life-span than ETS2.

While at launch I was kind of disappointed by FPS issues, connection bugs, and lacklustre car list, I am now quite enjoying this game. Lots of races and PR stunts to get involved in, etc.

- The graphics are seriously impressive
- The sounds are very accurate
- The map is huge and diverse, with lots of interesting scenery
- Lots of new cars have been added over time

However, I do with that the developers would spread out the activities a bit more. At first you get inundated with races and PR stunts, but then once they are all completed the game really does just end up with drift zones and speed traps to keep entertained.

The handling in this game is awful. It spins you anytime you look at a kerb, and there is no chance of recovering it. I've never driven a game where the kerbs are ice like this. it ruins multiplayer because you get left for dust whenever the game commands a spin. It just ruins the fun of racing whenever you need to rewind.
EDIT: It looks like they've fixed the spinning curbs.

In terms of the rest of the game, the story mode is fun but its over pretty quick. MyTeam is fine, but its a bit of a commitment and it does get a bit exhausting after a few rounds.

The models of the cars are excellent, but the dark black interior to hide the lack of detail is a shame.

It is very expensive for what is essentially an annually recycled game, so wait for a discount in my opinion.

And where is the VR support and cross-play? I have a friend on Play Station who I can't race with.

This game is spectacular. The graphics are good and the physics are the most realistic I have ever used. I would strongly suggest you get this game. However, if you dont have a racing wheel, I wouldnt bother. I dont usually like racing games, I prefer to go freeroam, however going online setting quick laps, trying to beat the other competition. It is such a fun thing to do, and I think it is a well made game.

Dream Pack 1 is a must get DLC, as it includes the nordshliefe, which is my favourite track in the game, and is one of the most popular tracks for the online servers.

Adds a great deal of customisation to one of my favourite trucks in the game. It is a great buy!
