I finished the entire game in 20 minutes. The gameplay was very clunky and unsatisfying. The graphics are good and it looks promising, but still needs a lot of work. A pre-alpha demo you can buy on Steam, seemingly abandoned by the developers (released in 2018).

There are much better Streets of Rage inspired beat ´em ups worth playing in my opinion.
Disappointed, I can only recommend against buying Streets Ablaze in its current state.

If however they were to significantly improve it in future, I do see potential for a good game. At the time of this writing the gameplay is unfortunately just too awkward and unpolished to call it that.

GAME OF THE YEAR

It sure is crap. I cant get off the first screen and die within seconds of starting the game.

I enjoyed it, although there were some issues which I will get to in a moment.
I liked the art style, the simple gameplay, the music, the weapon options / upgrades, hidden items, achievements, the overall attention that was put into making the game including references to well known movies and other famous characters for example Rambo, Predator, even the Undertaker and Paul Bearer (RIP) that are to be found in this game.

The gameplay was very simple. Just walk & jump, aim & shoot, special power button, switch weapons and press use. It is an actual flash game I got from a bundle for a price I cant complain about but I do not recommend the price that is being offered in the Steam store (4.99) unless it gets a discount when on sale because you can find the game for free online just like the previous 2 parts.

Main issue was that it sometimes crashed at a boss stage. The guitar sound got stuck in a loop and the game did not spawn a boss but lagged out. At times I was able to press escape and quit, so at least I got to keep the money I earned until that point, on other occasions it didnt respond at all.

What fixed it for me was restarting the game and retrying from the last checkpoint several times until it worked and this way I did manage to get past all the boss stages where it happened. Once it also occured that the background disappeared and I was walking in total darkness. A restart also fixed this issue.

My suggestions:
A crosshair instead of the standard mouse icon would be better.
Adding the weapon switch function to the mouse wheel would be good too.
Some (only 1 or 2) areas could use a fix where atm. you can not aim/shoot above a certain point with the mouse although enemys are flying there.
Fixing the crashes at boss stages so that the game doesnt get stuck just before certain bosses spawn.
Fixing the spelling mistakes on the sign where it mentions: NOT TRESSPASSING BEYOUND THIS POINT... becouse of experiments with alien technologies.

Not a bad game otherwise which also has replay value as the 3 main characters all have different weapons to unlock and unique special moves. Achievements are also a reason one would want to play it again as they wont all unlock in one playthrough. There is even a hidden/secret achievement.

I bought this DLC for the permanent firegrenade, MP5 and 1 weapon skin and can recommend it (current discount on Steam 75%). Even without a discount its still cheaper than buying the items individually from the in-game shop.

I noticed several Steam reviews about users not receiving their DLC keys. For them I can recommend clicking S.K.I.L.L. in their Steam librarys, then on the right hand side there will be the option "CD Key".
After activating the key (Shop; Refill Cash; Enter coupon code) the items will appear in the Gifts section in-game.
