Ok after nearly 400h on this game since it released to this date, one season completed, and on going season one in hard mode. It's time for a review and it's gonna be long one so stick with me.
This is a really good and engaging game. There is no doubts that it still has flaws (ie. Extreme lags in prime war, and still riddled with some silly bugs, but gotta give it time to flatten things out properly)

Now let's make a quick disclaimer. if you are heading into that game because you like survivalist games, you are mostly playing solo, keep in mind that... IT IS an MMORPG first and foremost! You must find a warband, you must get a hive. You cannot have all the tools in the toolkit available all by yourself through enough grind. you need to work with others in order to steadily progress, you need to commerce with others too not just rely on npc too. all the while keeping in mind that you also race the clock.

Race the clock you say? Well yes, that's one of the point that gets people to freak out... The end of a scenario. By then everything you've built is gone. And the world is anew.
Do I lose all my progress then? Well yes and no, and it's a great thing. Even for the completionists.

Let's break that down a bit, once you fire up the game you will have to pick a server PvP or PvE, PvP and PvE experience two very different types of scenarios so chose what you fancy (PvP and PvE also get different rewards, deviation etc this gonna matter later), try to pick a fresh server so you can start as early as possible on a scenario. The current scenario on pve manibus in novice is divided into 6 weeks of dynamic changes, and goals to complete for each phase. Remember work with a warband. Once you have reached week 6, you get to keep all the blueprints, mods, even looted furnitures for yourself, forever. It's yours it not going anywhere. For everything else, it's sent to a pocket dimension, for your preparation on your next journey. So plan ahead on what you want to bring with you to give you a head start, because at this point you now have a choice to make, you can either replay if you are on PvE your scenario but now with a cranked up difficulty but much better rewards, or you can even transfer to PvP and experience a completely new thing. And unlock new rewards, cosmetics etc... (remember what I said for completionists? Now if they missed something, they still have chance to do it, or they can even go get completely new things for their collection).

That reset at the end flatten things out for everyone, give you new experience, new builds, also new specialization. Your specialization are completely RNG in a massive pool of traits, hence why it matters to work with others, so you can engage in transaction, commerce, exchange of services, and get organized into a warband to cover as much ground as possible for the warband's growth, in order to beat the final challenges of a season.

Because yes, every weeks the challenge increases drastically, the firepower needed, the manpower required does so exponentially in a spectacular way. You though world bosses in wow were cool? Well buckle up for the prime wars.

Nothing like the sight of 20 Gatling and the volley shot of 40 meta human that joined the fight from every world of your server firing in unison at the giant lovecraftian nightmare fuel splitting the sky open, working hand in hand to build defenses as the fight goes on.

But that's not all, you have dungeons, with unique mechanics, boss fights tied to the story. The combat is extremely dynamic, and can become really tough and overwhelming at times. You also have dynamic events across the world. The game dies everything to keep you as engaged as possible all the while having to manage your ressources, ammo, food or you own base. Which you can get get even more thought activities like fishing, hunting, farming, or simply put your deviation to work.

Speaking of, if you like the sims, you may as well find the building system extremely satisfying and fire up your creativity, or you are more into the perfect optimization with micro/macro management say no more with the amount of engineering, and circuitry you may have to indulge in in order to optimize your production line.

Now story wise, it's a bit hazy for the time being, may even be borderline generic and feel like there's not much substance to it... Yet. Emphasize on yet, because of all of the above. The world changes and evolve, scenarios are here for that reason, to provide more content and fluff as the time goes. (The fact some quests are voiced over and some other don't surely doesn't help either with that feeling) but let's be clear you don't play that game for the story either.

Now onto the bad point, covered a few already, like the lack of voice acting, some annoying bugs here and there (like the fun day of shadow hounds stuck in the sky launching his meteor attack), and as amazing as prime war can be, it can become extremely laggy, shot not registering, nor your reload or even weapon swap. That's the issue once all the world converge to that one point, and more than 40 players try to get one spot, it's gonna be all hell let loose on the servers.

There are micro transaction, but they are not pushy, and it's still a free game, devs gotta eat. You don't have to, don't need to but you can if you have the means for it. And wish to support the game. It's all purely cosmetics, nothing game breaking or pay to win. Some may still argue the glass bundle kinda is, but at the end of the day, just nothing more than cosmetics for your house.

TLDR: good game, it's free, there are lot to do, find a warband and experience a full scenario and transfer to a new world. You won't regret the ride, if you are into MMORPG, survival games, the sims, pokemon, Lovecraft etc. it's a giant sandbox where everyone can find something to tickle their fancy for infinite hours.
