Petithardcard and Bix' - no problem. :) We're not really exclusive here and the only reason I'm not actively advertising this Steam group on the forums is that it has the tendency of flooding the place with people that have no interest in modding itself, just requesting mods to be made for them. ^^

Atrocious - Awesome to have someone with experience in here as well. Welcome! :)

Thanks for the invitation! A little info about myself: I'm a Software Developer and currently working on my third X Rebirth mod. I have been modding X3 before, but that was mostly some small scripting stuff for myself. Not sure if I ever released something for X3. My motivation for X Rebirth modding is just to change (small) things that annoy me, no plans for something big right now.

Hi people!
Although it's very nice to have been invited here, I'm not sure I belong here.
Like Bix', I'm just a casual player with a tendency to overreach, lol.
Sure, I was able to create a couple of fairly simple sound mods for XRebirth, but that's really all I can do right now. I was able to create those because sound replacement in XRebirth is among the easiest stuff you can do.
Scripting? No idea!
Macros? What the hell is that?! LOL

Anyway, if you don't mind having a total modding noob around, I'm happy to join you!

Hi everyone and thank you for the invite :) I hope I could be useful for you but as I said somewhere else I'm not a "real" modder, I don't really know scripting, the only thing I do is searching for values I can modify to improve the game.
Anyway, i say it again, thanks :)

Thank you in advance.

This problem appears only if the modder adds new xml files to the mod. All the old ones are being found with no problem. I also checked the .cat file manually and it does contain the needed files, yet they are not being found properly.

Hm, as I don't really have much experience with XR modding, much less so with the workshop aspect, I don't think I can help you here.

However, considering the workshop tools were released only recently, it might very well be that there are still some bugs in there. Maybe one of the other members can give some input on this issue?

That's great! nice to meet you, I have just started with mods for X:R.

I have encountered small problem with mods uploaded via Workshop Tool - ones that contain new macros added by the modder and reffered properly in index.

The mod works all nicely when in unpacked (not .cat) format. Sadly, as soon as it is transformed into .cat + .dat it states that macro files are missing at the specified location.
Shouldn't cat/dat work in exactly same way as unpacked mod? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Such error appears:
ile I/O: Could not find file '.\\extensions\nidaren_shield_generators\assets\props\surfaceelements\macros\l_small_milita[..]"

but only if using the version transformed by SteamWorkshop Tool. I was wondering if it may be some sort of loading order problem.

No problem. I've had this group up and running for a while but didn't do anything with it. Thought the workshop release would be a good opportunity to start using it. :)

btw. just FYI - while I haven't been involved with modding for XR much, I have worked for Egosoft before and have been modding the games in the series for 8+ years so it's not like I'm just someone with no connection setting up this group. :D

Nice idea, thanks for the invite :)
