Ukraine: Creation of the Ukrainian Nuclear Program

Today, by order of President Alexander Varennikov. The Ukrainian Republic has started its own nuclear program.. The President said this would be used to create peaceful ways to use nuclear energy, such as nuclear power plants. During the meeting, he avoided talking about creating nuclear weapons. But instead again, talked about how Ukraine could use nuclear energy for good.

Ukraine still has powerplants, and as of 1991, they did have Soviet era missiles still in their country. They only gave them back to Russia in a later agreement.
