You heard that right, REPLAYS! You can now record your very own treasured moments with the touch of a single button (F6.) This isn't the weekend, but we feel that the change is significiant enough, plus we just couldn't wait to tell you all.

On that thought, might as well include the server's changelog for the past week.

• If a map is played within the past 6 map-change, it will not be available for votes or nominations.
  
• KOTH map's time limit reduced from 32 minutes to 27 minutes.
  
• Trainsawlaser_pro will be replaced with the original Trainsawlaser (experimental.)
  
• Trainsawlaser and Dogbread's time limit reduced to 23 minutes (from 32 minutes.)
  
• Added CTF Rift, ARENA Tombfort, and more. You can check the updated map list through the galore link to the right of the group's profile, or join the server and type !maps.

This past week has been quite pacific. We tried out many maps. Some were throughoutly enjoyed, other were met with an instant stream of rtv votes. Thanks everyone for the feedback, let's keep growing together :)

Here's the plan for the next few days:

• Intergrate Map Workshops into the rotation.
  
• Investigate random lag spikes that appear after the latest TF2 Update.
  
• Ask the TrainYard guys if they would like a partnership (just simple ServerHop.) They seem like awesome people with a community that love this game as much as we do.
  
• Setting up a donation link?

Here's the changes that we've made to the server this week. As always thanks you all for playing and providing valuable feedback.

• Add a 11 minutes timer on all CTF maps.
  
  The round will enter Sudden Death Mode when the timer reach zero. After much observations, rounds usually to end about the 5 minutes mark. The match-up starts get stale and tiresome after more than 10 minutes, so this should help with the stalemates.
  
  
• Reduce 5CP max time to 5 minutes.
  
  The timers used to be 10 minutes, and resets on every point captured. This led to many 25 minutes match in which players stopped having fun and started being frustrated. Round enter Sudden Death when the timer ends.
  
  
• Dustbowls will also get similar reduced timer, but their max time will be 6:30 minutes instead of 5.

Standard Arena mode, but you respawn you team on point capture. This can lead up to intense matchs. It's usually more fun with fewer players, though.

The 3 Arena Maps are:

• Random Non-Melee Crits are disabled. (If they aren't let me know.)

• Removed Haarp from the rotation.
  
  
• Fixed a weather bug that cause J. J. Abrams views.
  
  
• Added an extra hidden slot so I could spectate in peace (that mean if you see server is full in the browser, try joining anyway.)

Throughout the past week we have been experimenting with various maps and game modes. Some was brilliantly received (Degroot, Trainsawlaser_pro,) other not so much (Asteroid, Mannpower, Wubwubwub, etc.) As such we want to thanks everyone who helped us test those maps, tolerated the chaos, cherished the laughter, and provide invaluable feedbacks.

Your sentries will also have tiny little hats now, so there's that.

Last week I posted about the new Class War server. Since then Reddit has been giving invaluable feedbacks to improve the it. Here's the change we've made by listening to the community and its players. (I don't think this violate any rule, but if it does please feel free to remove it.)

The biggest complain: Rubber-banding and occasional Lag Spike:
We've have resolve this by moving onto a better Server Provider. Your experiences on the server should now be lag-free and fluid. New server is located in Kansas, as such both East and West Coast should have no trouble enjoying the Mod. Ip will change, but you should be fine if it's already in your favorite (IP is 173.208.173.196:27015 | I will update previous post's IP as well.)

Removed Enemy Class announcement:
Turn out players like to be surprise instead of walking onto the battlefield with a perfect counter-loadout. The resulting effect is a mildly pleasant suspense of not knowing what to expect at the beginning of each round.

Removed respawn-time:
Being removed from the gameplay is no fun. Note that this does not mean instant-respawn, as there will still be freeze-cam which take up a few seconds.

Reduced Map Time:
This should provides a fresh arena every half-hour-ish. The time limit seems to be just right, long enough for players to experience the maps, yet short enough so they don't get bored. Note that you can still extend the map through vote, or prompt an early map change through rtv.

Sudden Death vote:
One of the charm of Class War is its occasional land-slide match up. Nevertheless no one enjoy the 2 hours long Engie vs Engie stalemate. The passing threshold require almost the whole server to agreed (we accounted for afk & no-voter,) as such prevent it from being prompt every time someone decides they doesn't like the match-up.

Sprayer-name displayer:
People requested it, seems harmless enough.

Stuck in spectate:
We believe this is a bug within the game itself and not the mode. A simple reconnect should solve it. You can also type "spectate" in console.

The map is selected due to their symetrical-team-balance and outstanding visual + gameplay qualities (exccept for cp_dustbowl, no idea how that map sneaked in there, but people like it enough) Beside all Valve's koth, ctf, and 5cp maps, the maps are:

  Plan of improvement:
  (we really need a coder to help modifying some sourcemod plugin, I still have some refines saved up. If that's not enough, I'm sure the community could come up with something. PM me if you would like to help this server and the wonderful Mod. Thank you so much!)
  • -Make it so that a team can't be the same class more than twice in a row.
    
  • -Give land-slide loser (spies in SPY vs PYRO) 10 sec of crit after leaving spawn. This give them a chance to fight back while still staying true to the Mod's spirit.
    
  • -Have occasional Wild Card round, where each team's mvp is assigned to a random different class than their team. (Still need the community's thoughts. But it should generate some fun moment, ie. a single heavy being heal by 11 medics)
    
  • -Set up a donation link. The only supporter's benefit would be a name tag and auto-balance immunity.
