I've written below an explanation of what both of these tournaments aim to accomplish. But if you don't care about that and only want to enter the tournaments and compete, then the links are posted here:

The 1v1 is aiming to make vast improvements of the format first introduced in the Cosmonaut Circuit, hopefully this time all players who enter will know their matches and everything will be visible on a challonge page! Not only that, but you won't have to rely on Velocity admins to approve your match results - Participants can input their own results (if there's a dispute you must remember to save replays and chat logs with screenshots and submit them to an admin for further instructions)! We also plan to make use of the stations function in challonge, so If you're a streamer then you should submit your twitch link to us as well as your challonge username, and we will promote your station on the challonge page so that viewers can follow your perspective through the whole tournament!
Don't worry Velocity will be livestreaming the top 4 in this test, so nobody misses the best action!

The 2v2 is essentially being carried by the community. All the new features being tested in the 1v1 open are also being used in the 2v2. The main difference being that no Velocity admins will fit into the lobby of top 4. So in this case, if you're a streamer submit your twitch link to us as well as your challonge username and we will be promoting the personal livestreams of anyone who gets to top 4, on the main discord, as well as using the stations function on challonge. Of course it's not a requirement to stream, so there is no guarantee that any matches will be covered live at all, sadly. Nonetheless, you can still enjoy the action first hand!

Hi everyone,
Despite having a great tournament weekend during the Cosmonaut Circuit, I am very aware of a number of players disappointed that they were unable to compete, or got disqualified for "no-show" during the Cosmonaut Circuit. In order to improve things for next time, and build a better level of communication with the participants and viewers, we have constructed a survey to try and understand how to change things for the future, in order to maximise the amount of players who show up for our next events.

The survey takes approximately 5 minutes to complete, and the results will directly effect how we choose to conduct ourselves in the upcoming events. Believe me when I say, Velocity is entirely committed to making the tournament experience in Speedrunners as fun and competitive as possible for the players, and viewers.
