Thanks for your reply. Yes, this is what I was thinking as well, some kind of trigger. It doesn't seem there is a variable to simply set the starting health, I believe it is hard coded as you said.

I guess I will need to learn a bit more about the scripting and see what I can come up with. thank you.

Hello. I have been messing around tweaking this mod to my liking, and I wondered how I could set the player starting health to a different value than the default 100. To simulate the player starting injured.

For example, starting with only 25 health. But still the normal 100 wellness. I only want to change the starting health amount. I want the player to be able to survive and heal back to the base 100 default as normal.

Can anyone help me out?

Oh I see. Well maybe Val would consider making it an option in a future version? Or tell us how to edit the files to make such a change.

I play classless all the time. But there is no official way to do so. I just do not open the starting briefcase at all. I either drop it (and the key) where I start, or usually I will haul it along with me until I find my first location I will be staying at. And throw them in a chest for later in the game.
Later in the playthrough I may open the container for the items. But I never use the skill bonus adjustment. I rarely even open the case at all.

I prefer to play this way for the extra challenge. I found the all the classes gave me much more of a boost/head start than I wanted. It's especially more challenging not having a single can of food or jar, meaning I need to find at least one empty can asap so I can start to make water. And having to grind out some early levels to unlock things like the bow.

But I love it.

I play overhaul without using the class sytem. Meaning I never open the first briefcase. Or I may open it later in the playthrough, but not use the skill boost items. I prefer to start with no bonuses at all and work for it all. I just store the starting case and key at my first base and ignore it.

Same here. Perhaps uninstall 7 Days from steam entirely, including going to the folder and deleting any remaining files/folders. Then reinstall (make sure you are not on experimental 16.4). Then apply the mod, and it should really work.
